Q: Do i need a projector or can my regular tv work?

The DVDs are designed to use either. If you want it on a window or to use the 3D mode to make regular pumpkins look like they are alive, then you need a projector. If you want something for the inside, for example a background at a party, you can have it on a TV.

Q: What kind of projector do I need for this?

You can use any type of projector and type of dvd player. I use two types of projectors since I have one in the window and one projecting on to our fence. I have the Digital Galaxy 300 ($90)for the fence and the Epson EX3240 ($350) for the window. You need to consider your lumens/candlelight/brightness that you need to project the image on whatever background/screen. They don't need to be expensive or high resolution. Our fence projector is only 640x480. So once again, you can use any type of projector and type of dvd player.

Q: Does the dvd have a prop mode? or do you need to use the sd card version?

the DVD has the face only version you project on the pumpkins, complete pumpkin on black background to put them in the window, & complete pumpkins w/ a full background for use on your TV.

Q: Does this dvd have dolby surround sound? the projector i have doesn't support it.

Same here. There is no sound when connected to the projector.
