Worth it! Don't hesitate!
I have been wanting these boots for a long time. I have 2 other pair of Frye boots and I always struggle with the price tag. I don't mind spending money on good, quality shoes but Frye is out of my financial comfort zone. However, I am quickly assured that I have made a sound investment with each pair. My first pair were Campus. Ordered too big but after finding the right insole, they are perfect. Second was Veronica Slouch tall. Such a Bad A** looking boot!! Ordered normal size (10). Had to have them professionally stretched. They were so very hard to get on at first and leather was so stiff across the wide part of the foot, I was worried I made a painful investment. However, the boot stretching got it to a comfortable level that I could break them in more myself. 5 years my fav and they are very comfortable and still in great shape. These Veronica Short are the same (stiff, hard to get on) but seems like the leather is a bit softer. I think ordering up would be a mistake. It will take me a few less than comfortable days to get them broke in. I wore them at work, walking on concrete, first day for 8 hrs before having to relieve my feet. Not too bad. But I was wearing very thin socks too. My right foot is bigger than my left by about a half size but an 11 would be too big. Very odd. I have a boot stretcher and will use it on the right boot. This boot is slouchier than I had hoped. The shaft is quite flimsy but my calves are big enough to fill it in. I don't think it will be an issue. The color Whiskey is a little on the orange side but not a deal breaker. Goes perfect with leggings and skinny. Have tried boot cut jeans with success too. I tried to save money and ordered 4 other similar style boots (including the Frye Harness short, which I realize isn't saving any money) but it just wasn't what I wanted. These boots are very close to perfect and after a few days of breaking in, they will be. Choose your favorite color and order now! I will most likely be saving up for another pair next year.

Amazing boots!
I found these on Amazon and the price was right. I probably would’ve normally ordered a brown pair but since the black was about $40 less expensive, I went with black.I read several reviews that suggested sizing down, I’m so happy I didn’t! I’m always a size 8 1/2. I recently ordered a pair of Freebird booties and since they don’t come in half sizes, I ordered a 9, and I’ve regretted it ever since. They’re a little too big and slip off the back of my foot. I’ve worn them outside so it’s too late, I’m keeping those. I didn’t want to make that same mistake with these. I ordered an 8 1/2 and when they got here they were so tight! They weren’t really too small or short, the leather was just so tight across the top of my foot, it kind of hurt. I know they’re high quality leather and will probably stretch out, so I decided to wear them around the house for a little bit to see if I could stand them. While I had them on I looked up how to help them stretch. I put on my thickest pair of socks, squeezed my foot in and heated the boots up with a hair dryer. It worked perfectly. I wore them to work on feet all day the very next day! Some reviews have suggested that these were not genuine Fryes but I’m positive they are. They were boxed nicely, the buckles say Frye, they came with a little card, and the leather is just amazing! They look, feel, and smell like the best boots I’ve ever owned. I’m in love! Buy them!

Great Looking and Well Made
I wear a regular width size 9 and have a "regular" heel. I found the boots to be true to size. The leather is stiff but I expected them to be. I bought them in October and have only worn them about six to ten times and only two of those times were for all day. I might still be in the breaking in phase. They are made to last and I'm sure it will takes some time to "make them mine." The front of the boot is fitting nicely and molding to my feet without any problem but I am having problem with the heel. My heel slips and I get blisters. I can't wear heavier socks or else the front would be too tight. I can't use any kind of heel strips because they come loose when putting the boots on. I'm puzzled about the heel fit. Maybe if the front loosens up a bit more then I can wear heavier socks. I have other boots that are comparable in quality (not as stiff and rugged though) and they felt good right out of the box. I'm new to this type of boot. Frye has a great reputation and I love the look of the boot and the quality. I'll update today's comment as time goes on.April 2013: Unfortunately, these boots are not getting better with time. My heel still slips. I tightened the straps hoping that this would keep my heels from slipping. It didn't help - just made it hard to get the boots off or on. This boot just doesn't fit well in the heel and rubs. I wish that I hadn't bought them - one can't wear boots if they don't feel good. Good reason not to buy off of a website without knowing how they will fit. Other reviews say they feel great - this is the only brand I've ever bought (from a website or not) that felt so bad.

Super cool boots!
These boots are too cute! I normally wear a size 8 in everything. I know that Frye tends to run a bit small, so I ordered an 8.5. The length is fine with the normal amount of new boot heel slippage, but I will definitely need to put the boot stretchers on these to break them in before I wear them. I don't do the pain of breaking in boots and shoes anymore. LOL. The leather on the shaft is very soft and pliable, which I love! The shaft height is also perfect for me. With proper care, the quality of these boots means they will last the rest of my life and beyond.
