3 P&P what if, short stories.
What a lovely bouquet of short stories. Highly entertaining, engaging and heartfelt read."The library"Caught staring by Elizabeth in the Netherfield library, a tongue tied Darcy struggles to remove his foot out of his mouth in this novella. A series of stumbles and misunderstandings, eventually reveals their true feelings towards each other.Caroline makes an appearance and I loved the way Mr Darcy delt with the intruder..."Married"A novel with Elizabeth coming to Georgiana's aid but paying for her kindness in an unwanted marriage to a stranger. On the stagecoach from London to Meryton, she encounters a young girl in obvious distress. Clever thinking makes her able to rescue the girl by sending an express letter to her brother, comprising herself in the process.Caroline is put firmly in her place which was a treat. Lady C and Lord Matlock attacks was not so easily put to rest though.Adored this strong and wise Elizabeth, one of the best interpretations I have read. Darcy was decisive and strong but does let his pride get in the way of his happiness at times...Loved the way their relationship developed. One of my all time favourite stories. The reflections Darcy had on his own performance and past behaviour was especially lovely. I think it is a quality stamp when reflections are one of the best part of the story..."Ramsgate"Novella where the Bennet's are on holiday in Ramsgate and becomes friends with Georgiana. Darcy enters, falls in love but seem rather unaware of the fact...Colonel Fitzwilliam joins them after being summoned by Georgiana who is not as blind as her brother. Add the Bingley's, a matchmaking father of the ton and Lady C to the mix and the chaos is complete.Loved all 3 stories and heartily recommend this book!

And Then...The Futures of Them All
Having never read a modern anthology of "Pride and Prejudice," I did not know what to expect from this book. I soon discovered that Book One deals with the abbreviated courtship of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy of Pemberly. While very familiar with the plot, I was pleasantly surprised to learn of the emotional responses of the main characters as they laid the groundwork for their falling in love. Their opinions formed at their first meeting were proven wrong as they come to learn more about each other's character. Instead of a being a disdainful, arrogant member of the aristocracy, Jane learns Darcy is a caring, responsible brother and protector to those for whom he is responsible. Darcy learns Elizabeth's wit and intelligence are reflected in her sparkling eyes, and he soon thinks of her as one of the most handsome women of his acquaintance. And so they are married.Book Two deals with Miss Georgiana's elopment with George Wickham and how Elizabeth Bennet saves Georgiana's reputation. When Elizabeth writes a letter to Darcy urging him to rescue his sister, she unwittingly surrenders her future to a complete stranger. A single unwed lady would never write to a single man whom she has never met. To salvage Elizabeth's reputation, Darcy offers to marry her. To explain Geogiana's presence, all are willing to swear she has traveled to attend her brother's wedding. This book deals with our young couple's marriage, the fallout of Darcy's not marrying Anne, the invalid daughter of Lady Catherine de Bourgh, and the courtship of Jane Bennett and Charles Bingley, who has two disagreeable sisters. During the span of this book, Georgiana comes to realize she is not as mature at fifteen as she thinks she is, learns how to bake lemon tarts, and is introduced to an officer's wife and sees first-hand how poor military families really are. Darcy learns that his uncle, the Earl of Matlock, and his aunt, Lady de Bourgh, are slave owners and owe their income to slavery. At this news, Darcy severs all ties with his family, who are shunned by society and flee to their country estates. This book also recounts how our couple falls in love with each other.Book Three explains how Geogiana Darcy meets the Bennet family, how she sends for her brother guardian, Darcy, and her other guardian, Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam. It is another retelling of how Elizabeth and Darcy come to love and respect each other. This is a charming book that rehashes a most beloved story by Jane Austen and predicts the future of these unique individuals. It was time well spent.

I loved it!
Such a riveting tale. I couldn’t put it down. I got so engrossed in the story that I actually felt like I was apart of the story. I also love the all time classic original book it’s based, plus all the TV series and movie adaptations as well.

Delightful as always….
If I see a book by J Dawn King or by Christie Capps I will grab an opportunity to read it. Her books are clean; her plots are well thought of and the writing just flows. Each and every one of them is a delight . Keep writing more 😊

All worth the read
I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 takes on the story. Nicely written stories that take the reader and the main actors down different paths... What if? Really liked that Elizabeth and Darcy talked before jumping to conclusions all the time. Sweet, short reads.

What great ideas and variations in these stories
At first I was hesitant to read these stories, the original being my favourite since my childhood. The author is obviously a lover of Jane Austin and her writing, as her variations on the lives of Elizabeth and Darcy are magic. I am off to search for more of Ms King's stories now, as she has proven her skills as a story teller of extraordinarily heartfelt themes.

Excellent - but Lord and Lady MOUNTEBANK?
Nice stories with interesting outcomes. The incorrect description of ages as eg "eight and ten" continues. I wish authors would stop doing this as it's never been used, certainly not by Jane Austen. It was a hoot to read of characters called Lord and Lady Mountebank. A mountebank is a man like Wickham. Apart from these, the stories were entertaining and fun, very enjoyable.
