The media could not be loaded.  I sort of gathered that this wasn’t museum quality, butI was surprised. The box came, it weighed a lot. Plus side. This is a real weapon. A hardwood handle, a stainless axe head, braiding just fine. Flaws depend on how you see them, it’s not machine perfect, but I really doubt they were 1,000 years ago. But fun to have, and it looks comfortable as a camp axe, or something with attitude. I may just get a second.*UPDATE* Having had the ax for more than a month, I have the following observations. First of all, on one side of the ax the designs are smeared. I don’t know any reason for this, but if I were to hang it on the wall, this would definitely be facing the wall. Secondly, the leather ax head cover was pretty loose. I addressed that by adding two additional snaps and now it’s tight as a drum. Third, the leather is pretty thirsty (dry). Neatsfoot oil fixed that. All in all, because of those issues, I would change the star rating from 5 to a 4. I’m still happy with the ax, it looks good, and feels great in my hand. I have no regrets about buying it, but if someone were a purist, or just getting it for display, I would check it over carefully looking for the above issues. UPDATE: The ax head has come loose, with a pivot of a millimeter or so up and down. This is disappointing - you can see ( or hear) it, as this would be the forerunner of a larger potential problem. The ax has never been used, and has never struck anything. You can also see the smeared graphics near the blade. You also can see where I’ve added snaps to secure the cover.The loose ax head is a deal killer, if the ax were to be used for anything but display. Anyone who has had an ax head fly or break off shudders just thinking about it. Nonetheless, it has a nice feel to both the head and handle, and will only be used for display.

I shopped a little late for Father’s Day so the estimated delivery was a few days after but it came 5 days earlier!!! So stoked on that. When I pulled it out I’d the box I was obsessed. I cannot wait to give it to my husband. It is way cooler than I thought it would be. Looks great, getaway quality and I can’t wait to see my husbands reaction.I’m always expecting Amazon purchases to be less than what I expect but this purchase delivered! Worth every penny

The markings on the axe where not the same as in the photos provided and was poorly done, the wood was cracked on the back of the handle. When returning it they charged an $18 restocking fee.

I bought this for self defense, it ought to work for that just fine. I love the look and heft of it. I may buy another one and hang it on the wall next to my bed where it can be grabbed and ready in an emergency.You don't buy this for chopping firewood, so don't expect that to work out very well.

It was already a amazing looking Axe/hatchet but I still made a couple minor changes… I shocked(110) the handle & then I stained it with some hand mixed red with graphite mica powder stain. Without what I did it stands alone as a fine purchase for sure.!.!.!.
