Fender Groove Tubes GT-12AX7-C Select Amplifier Tube

Long story short, I bought a brand new Fender Blues Deville 4x10 real cheap. The clean channel was astonishing, but the Drive/distortion channel was weak. Very thin sounding, no bottom, no umph, and not very much distortion.After doing some research I replaced the stock 12AX7s with these and the Drive channel now sounds amazing. With humbuckers I get a late 60s 70s classic rock/crunch sound. With single coils/Stratocaster I get a hendrix/SRV blues tone. And my Tele growls like a wild beast!I'm not saying the Drive channel will suddenly let me sound like Pantera or Brujeria. Of course not. But these tubes overwhelmingly improved my sound.

I've been using Groove Tubes for decades. The are the best tubes I've used. This one fit that bill just like the others. I had worries because of the change in manufacturing. Didn't seem to matter for fit and sound. For longevity, we'll see if that changes. In the past they lasted as long as any other tube only were brighter and stronger. I will update if there is a problem down the line. Of course - tubes don't last forever. Especially if you drive your amp like I do. Enjoy, and play hard and often.

These are great modern production 12AX7's from Shuguang. GT buys them in bulk, tests them, prints their name on them and charges twice as much as the typical vendors.But, what you get are tubes that have a very strong output - to the point of being almost borderline microphonic...but they aren't. Lots of "dirt" to be had too - every amp I've installed them in has sounded improved, even ones that have existing Shuguang 12AX7's...

Works well in a 63 Fender Deluxe Amp.

Great tubes. I have no issues with it what so ever. I recommend to others seeking these.

Best sounding pre amp tube in my opinion for Marshall and other Hi Gain Amps.The con is they didn't last but only 5 months. I think Ill be going to a different b rand or back to the JJ tubes.

I compared this 12AX7 to the Tungsol and liked the GT much better. I play through a VOX VT 120. The Tungsol was way too "middy" for my liking and lacked bottom end. The GT had less midrange while still being bright and had more bottom end crunch. I kept the stock tube from VOX because it's pretty darn decent. Better than the Tungsol for sure. I had to switch the stock VOX and the GT 4 or 5 times before realizing a difference.

First off, these are great tubes. No doubt about it. I replaced my stock tubes in my Jet City 20HV with these and it made the amp shine. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the shipping package they come in. Mine arrived in a very flimsy style cardboard that if dropped would have easily busted the tubes. Great tubes, great price!

Cuando los compré no había casi stock. Me resultaron caras. Pero son muy buenos tubos, hechos en China, encontramos otras en Rusia o países eslavos de gran calidad también. Cuando los instalas dan el típico olor a amplificador que te proporcionan los tubos nuevos (Al ppio me asusté). En cuanto al sonido, en concreto, fueron puestos a un FENDER híbrido de 12" de los 80's, cambié las dos de previo por Groove y el cambio fue bastante perceptible en rango sin perder cuerpo, mejoró el rendimiento de los potenciometros de agudos y bajos, el amplificador ganó más brillo manteniendo un gran nivel de medios y graves. Tengo que ir probándolas más pero obviamente el amplificador volvió a sonar más a Fender, que era lo que buscaba, para combinar con mis pedales. Estas válvulas son caras pero reconozco que yo preferí estas a estar cambiando y probando para obtener el resultado que buscaba. Si buscabas algo muy Fender, y el ampli es un Fender o puede parecerse, estas válvulas van a ir muy bien. Pero si tienes un ampli que no suena para nada a Fender no vayas a pensar que por ponerlas va a sonar a Fender (jejejeje, no pasará).

Negative reviews have turned me towards other tubes, but I took the plunge and so glad I did!!! what a difference!! great tubes!!!

To me,The 12AX7c is not as powerfull as the ECC83s, but loveley-melodic,probably "the golden middle way". Anyway it also depends on the preamp,if u don't like a preamp, a spetial tube woun't help either!for example Rocktrons: Voodu Valve, 90% of the factory-Sounds sound like"turn that thing off"---The 12AX7c helps if your preamp needs to slow down, but for example,in my DigiTech 2120 u need the ECC83s, because here the 12AX7c is notpowerfull enough (i guess because of the limiter)most of thefactory-sounds, you woun't hear at all, except u start tuning the limiter.GROOVE TUBES, I know them for many Years, I did not knowFENDER bought them, and didn't know there are so many tube-sellerson the market now, but get the GT-reference book, and u see GT is supreme,Fender did not ruin the Company, ...u can make a since out of it, so no one can even touch GT, imagine the possabilitys...
