Adaptor works!
I was able to keep and continue using the my set of freon hoses. The schrader valve installed in the top of the new government mandated cans of R134a just cost the American consumer 100% more for the same size refrigerant.! When will government figure out they're killing the taxpayer with pass down costs??

I guess it works
It works, with some hassle. The flaw is the plastic threaded top part, it doesn't want to screw on straight. With some effort, I have made it work twice but not without some leaking in the process. Honestly, I'd rather pay twice as much and get a unit with a metal screw top. Metal on plastic seldom works well and this is a prime example.

Inexpensive and perfect for the job
First, kudos to Amazon for delivering the product in less than 24 hours and that too on a Sunday. This product enabled me to use my old hoses (I have accumulated three of those over the years) with the new car ac refill cans. Worked perfectly, the very first time. I never felt that there was any danger of cross threading or breakdown. I am puzzled by the negative reviews. Please do not overtighten and screw in carefully -- this product should last many years.
