Works very well, but needs instructions and a list of the contents included in the package.
This is a good product, the hand held, hand press is sturdy and well made. The grommets are of a good quality. The only complaint I have, is the packaging - there was not one word of instructions or even a photo of the washers, grommets, or grommet tool. The washers, an important part of keeping a grommet attached to material, are buried inside the same plastic bag and because there are no instructions or even an explanation of what the contents of the purchase was, we were confused because we didn't see the washers. They are inside the bag, they work well and are well made too. My frustration, is the people that worked hard to make this grommet press and washers, did a good job. A great job. The packaging did them a diservice. We love this tool, it works very well and I think anyone would be happy with their purchase. Please include instructions, and a list of the contents of the purchase.

Very poor quality control before shipping out
I liked the product and it was received quickly along with just how it was ordered. I used it for the first time and takes a bit of grip but I got the grommet set. Then I noticed that about 1/4 of the grommet was not set fully. I thought it could be user error as it was my first try. I set a second and had the exact thing happen. I examined the tool, found That the top and bottom do not fully compress together. You can see in the photo that the edge closet to the pivot mechanism does not close fully. There are set screws , so I just figured it was not aligned properly. I loosened the top and found that the set screw had been cross threaded and was bent too. Upon further investigation, I found that the barrels had actually been tack welded in place too and in a spot I can not grind off weld and reposition the barrels. So it can not be adjusted, which would be fine if it was lined up in the first place. So now I have a tool that kind of does the job but I won’t use again. I have trying to find a way to contact seller but having zero luck. I am hoping this is just a one time defect but I have a feeling it is not. I would not recommend purchasing this tool at this point.I received the replacement tool and it was set up the exact same way. Look at the 2nd photo and you can clearly see that the barrels are not lined up and it is also tack welded so it can not be adjusted. The top barrel set screw is also bent and stripped. Returning 2nd tool and will not order again, very disappointed.

Work great
I have put in a lot of grommets in my life time. Back forty years ago we use a punch to punch the hole or we cut as X in the canvas. We then took a die placed the grommet on it, stuck it in the hole. Then used a setting tool with hammer to set grommet ring in place germinate. This is so much simpler, I installed thirty in just a matte of minutes with one motion. Just remember to place flat ring with cone side, the concaved side, place in down on magnet not up. So when grommet sets it curls into the cone or concave side of ring.

Simple to use, Cheap grommets, Too expensive
This is one of those products you should probably ignore both the 5 star and 1 star reviews. This grommet tool doesn't deserve 1 star if used as it should, which is for quick simple projects where longevity isn't critical. Any review that calls these high quality grommets should also be ignored as clearly those people have never used an actual high quality grommet.I bought this hoping to make a vinyl porch inclosure with stainless steel grommets. This won't work well for that at all. It doesn't fit the grommets and the included ones are too sharp and weak for that use. I think this is best for adding grommets to temporary cardboard signs and similar projects.PROS:Super fast and simple to use - much faster than standard grommet tools that require a hammer.CONS:Does not fit quality grommets like CS Osborne'sGrommets included are cheap, sharp, and not suited to hanging plastic or vinylToo expensive - this is a cheap Chinese tool and isn't really worth more than $25

Painful To Use
Do not buy if you suffer from arthritis in your hands. I tried using these and the pain was quite great. The problems are several, but the pressure required to achieve the grommet is excessive. I mean, you really have to press the handles together, and even using both hands may not achieve the goal of a grommet and a hole.No instructions came with the unit. There were a lot of grommets. The two grommet pieces are hard to place onto the unit in spite of the magnetic feature. After the grommet sections are on the plyers, the space the user has to slip the cloth through is miniscule. It is very narrow, and putting the cloth in often pushes the grommet sections off the grommet maker.Cutting through the cloth is very hard, and even after the grommet is made the cloth is often not cut away. The result is a lot of cloth remaining in the hole... or the kind of sort of hole that the product makes. The grommet maker seems to be poorly made, even though the plyers are heavy.AD2
