Question 1

It says it's intended for pets up to 10lbs. Based on the larger dimensions this doesn't seem right. Would my 15lb dachshund fit?

Hi MJ, I always try to be conservative on weight, mainly to focus attention on the fact it is intended and appropriate for smaller pets as it is an airline capable carrier so it does have the collapsible roof to allow it to fit under the 8.5" seat in front of you. This carrier is a bit wider than others, and has a thick fleece bedding, I am confident your dachshund would fit nicely and its strong enough to carry the weight, have a great day and thanks for asking :)

Question 2

Will the large size fit a dog 12" tall? It says it's 13" tall, but also says can fit pets up to 16x10". Can someone measure and tell me?

Hi DD, and thank you for asking. I’m sure users will add to the question, but I wanted to give my take as the designer of this and many other totes. The large size is indeed 13” in exterior height measurement and also 19” in exterior length but do keep in mind the rounded contours as well as the interior padding which takes away some of the interior height and length as well. Also keep in mind that as an airline capable tote the height would necessarily need to be pliable to be able to accommodate the 8.5” space allowed under an airliner seat,  so typically for that use you will want to measure your pet while comfortably laying down. Question 3

I have a 9lb Pomeranian chihuahua who gets worked up. Has anyone had any issues with their dogs getting the zippers open

Hi Stella, I pay attention to all reviews and any return issues and to date I haven't seen or heard a problem with the interlocks on the zippers. Some times on all of the soft sided carriers you will hear of a pet that is able to claw or chew the mesh, but frankly I haven't had that happen on this series as yet, but no doubt it can be an issue on any soft sided crate or carrier so it's something to be aware of. Thank you for asking, I can't attach a pic here of the interlocks but it can be seen on the product images, it is plastic but it doesn't feel fragile.

Is this machine washable?

Hi Tarkus, The outside material is Oxford 600D Nylon Fabric, and as such it is waterproof and when it comes to strength, nothing beats nylon. This material was used for parachutes and ropes during World War II, so it's safe to say that it's strong and durable. While it can be cleaned in a gentle cycle in a washing machine, we do not recommend it because there is really no need, the material is the same as what is used on a beach chair, so it is easily wiped down and cleaned. Their is a fleece bedding pad inside of the carrier, and that can be easily removed and washed on a gentle cycle as you would for any fleece, or even better dry cleaned.
