it does what a step-up ring should do
After extensive use (swapping out filters, ... etc) it's still holding up fine. The anodized coating is still perfect. With Hoya filters, there's a tendency to bind, but that's the case with Hoya filters in general, so not a knock against this.

Works as described
Simply screw this adapter onto your lens filter thread & then attach an exisiting 77mm neutral density or circular polarizer filter to the adapter. Worth the $12 as it eliminates the need for purchasing a 58mm filter.
