Q: What is the id (inside diameter)? i need 40 od and 30.2 id. thank you in advance!

I.D. is 30 mm measured with my $7.00 manual caliper. Prolly close enough. My steerer tube is 1 and 1/8 inch, or about 28mm. It is the 45 degree angle that seats on the snap ring that hold the bearing centered so it should work.

Q: does this work on a tapered steerer tube? If so how do i put it on?

Yes it is for 41mm outer diameter frame and fits 1-1/2” to 1-1/8” tapered steerer. It will fit existing 10/40/110 series Cane Creek headsets. To swap out you need to remove top cap, remove stem and any spacers, the dust seal and then retaining clip. Then the old bearing should slide off and new bearing on. Then reassemble in reverse.
