After having used polyester fleece for all these years, to have finally discovered this type of cotton plush blanket is a revelation. The blankets are thick, soft and perfect replacement for the polyester. It's 5 times more expensive but 1000% worth it. Just amazing.

We had a blanket similar to this one. It, however, go sent to Goodwill by accident. It had a feel, cuddle factor, and texture that were unique with respect to our other blankets. I went through Amazon's entire collection of medium weight cotton blankets looking for one right one. I found it, but I had to do it with out touching it. When It came to our door, I opened it up right away to see if I made the right decision since it was more costly than other blankets. It was the right decision. Both I an my wife love the blanked. It is actually better than the one we gave away. We're very pleased with it. It not too cool and not too hot, it's just right for a good night's sleep.

...and boy was I wrong.We LOVED that blanket. And I was pretty much at the point of tears recently when I saw that it was FINALLY starting to fray around the edges and get a little thin after who knows how many times through the washing machine.So I went digging for a replacement, but figured they didn't make them anymore, so I was buying all these OTHER random blankets and trying them... and was DEEPLY disappointed. I mean, heck, most of the ones I bought showed up in a package that was maybe the size of two college textbooks. How could any blanket be anything close to decent if there was no BULK to the thing?I cried in a corner about it for a while, and my wife came to me, haloed in a heavenly light, and said, "Hey, moron. Have you considered looking at the TAG on the blanket we have now to see if they still make them? Hm?"And it occurred to me... that no... I had NOT. So we checked. "DownTown?! PFFT. Who has ever heard of them? There's no way they're still making these... and even if they do, I bet you they will suck. Because it seems like ALL bedding quality has gone WAY down hill these days."But we found them! And they were still stupidly expensive! So... I dunno... maybe?!And we bought it.And it showed up. It was this giant, heavy package that looked like it was closer to a full BACKPACK full of textbooks. So... already I'm pretty excited. I open it up and it's thick and glorious, just like I remember ours was when we bought it 20 years prior. Put it on the bed, went to sleep with the windows open and the thermometer reading 45 degrees, and honestly I don't think I've slept this well in years.I know it all sounds silly, but seriously... this thing is just SO great. In a world of these low-quality bedding materials, it is SO great to know that someone out there is still making a high quality item. And, yeah, it's pricey, but if I have to buy one of these every 20 years, I think maybe I won't worry too much. And this is totally a blanket to use year round. It's oddly not so hot that you can have it on you in the warmer months, and yet one single blanket kept me warm and cozy even with my windows open on a 45 degree night.SO happy. Planning to buy some extras for my kids at Christmas.

We used this blanket for my son's bed, he likes a soft blanket. This is very well made and surprisingly soft for cotton. Think the inside of a cotton sweatshirt. It was particularly soft when we first got it, but then it started to pill badly, so we had to wash and dry it. Massive quantities of lint came off in the dryer, I had to take the lint out 3 times during the cycle, totally full. After washing, no more lint. It's still soft, but not quite as soft, just like after you wash a sweatshirt. I would definitely recommend it and it's a very quality product. Worth the money and I expect it to last a long time.

I can’t tolerate polyester (plastic) materials. This 100% COTTON blanket is woven in an extremely soft and comfortable fabric that almost feels more like wool or alpaca than cotton. It’s plush, light, and very warm. It’s probably the most expensive cotton blanket I’ve ever bought, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again as a gift or for my own use.

This throw is absolutely beautiful, soft & extremely well made. It is very light-weight and is just heavy enough to keep the chill off without being overly warm. The ivory color is nice. I bought this to replace an itchy, scratchy Afghan blanket that my x-wife made for me years ago. I need the throw for naps after work or on colder nights watching TV when the fireplace insert hasn't heated up the room enough yet. My problem is that it's just not long enough, wrapped around me sitting with my feet up on the cushion or laying down on the sofa - it needs to be about 10 to 12 inches longer (heavier weight would be nice too). The width is perfect. This seems to be the normal size for a throw blanket though, and stepping up to a twin-size for the sofa would be overkill on the width. I'm a 5'9" 62 year old male, 180 lbs. When laying down on the sofa, I need to hook it over my feet (because it is so light-weight and slides up) to keep the cold out, and then the top just barely covers my shoulders. There are times when I'd like it to partially cover my face so that I can breathe warm air underneath it. Despite this, I'll learn to adjust to it - I only buy high-quality things and this throw screams quality.

These are seriously the most comfortable, softest, coziest blankets in the world! We all just love them. We had them on all our beds....and then our house burned down. Everybody missed their blankets and I bought one for every member of our household again. The quality was just as good and the blankets felt like old friends. We love them!!

I purchased this blanket to use during the warmer months here in MN. With my old polyester one, I would wake up in a sweat and feel all clamy. I needed something breathable. I found out in a quick hurry that this purchase was a winner! Pros: Breathable, has a nice weight, not too heavy, not too thin. I chose the ivory color to go with my ivory/off white sheets. I would describe my blanket as cottony soft and not so much cashmere soft as the description states. Overall I would definitely buy again.
