Pretty Good! Takes Some Adjusting
The idea is there for this product. It does take some adjusting. I basically cut what I thought was the right size and slowly increased the cut in the diameter until it fitted behind the sprocket. It does catch the gunk from the chain effectively. However, the edge of it does get caught on the chain or sprocket at times, depending on which way you spin your wheel and can spill all the gunk you’ve just collected all over your driveway. But the idea is there, just takes some getting used to and a bit of technique.

Good idea, shame about the product.
I had seen a few adverts for the Grime Guard, I thought it was what I needed to help clean and lube my motorcycle chain. On first impressions, I though it would be great. I cut it to size and fitted it.The problems started almost straight away; it kept "catching" when trying to rotate the wheel, so you end up holding it while turning the wheel, which isn't terrible but makes things awkward, especially while trying to spray chain cleaner. This leads into the next problem. I started finding that the orange paint was coming off it, where the chain cleaner spray was on my hands and then trying to hold the Grime Guard in place, the chain cleaner was removing paint from it and onto my hands which was then being transferred to the bike.At this point I gave up. I'm afraid to say that it is now in the bin.It is a good idea, it might work for normal bicycles. But, if you have a motorbike, buy a neck buff, or a pair of bike socks or something nice for your partner instead of the Grime Guard, then use the Amazon cardboard box panels to protect your bike while cleaning and lubing the chain.

moto grime guard
i have had this item about a month my motorcycle chain was looking ruff so i knew it was time to give it a clean so with all things ready chain cleaner and this item moto grime guard. got it to fit where it was needed. now this is where the problems started.i find this item to be too thin if it was thicker it might be usefull as it gets bent up very easy mind you its not far off the strength of a bit of paper needs to be stronger thicker but saying that you are only cleaning the outside of your chain i gave it 2 star as its much better to clean your chain before the front of the back wheel where there is space and you also get the back side of the chain and thats where it counts, by all means buy it give it a go but you will think and just put it aside as there are better ways to clean your chain, yes ok it holds some of the old oil crap but its also leaks, in my eye its a good idea just needs to be a mk2 version then it might be worth a keep

Used on my cycle and motorbike
My partner complains that I have too many gadgets - most of which serve no real purpose, so she claims. However, this is ideal on cycles - especially those with disc brakes - to make the liberal application of GT85 (or similar) to the cassette without the need to worry about overspray on the brake system. It also makes motorcycle chain cleaning and lube a lot quicker and easier.A gadget with a proven purpose

Helps when cleaning your chain
This helps keeping the oil and grime off your wheel and tyre when cleaning, but I found the catch tray leaks.
