Q: How do i get the velcro backing to attach to the object i want to place the patch on? must it be sewn on?

The backpack I put it on, has the back of the Velcro backing already attached. But the patch is thin enough, you can take it to a dry cleaners, which does alterations and they can sew it on anything you’d like. Hope this helps.
