Simple and Effective.
We have a 17 year old red-ear and have moved him to a larger aquarium. We were wanting to get more life out of our current pen-plex 1200. I found this while doing some research and have it hooked up. It is super simple to get installed and works exactly like it should. It has been doing great since we got it hooked up.

Great addition to me 180gal tank
I use this plumbed in front of the cascade 1500 canister filter. My tank is relatively low bio load so I use this as a second chamber for beneficial bacteria. I am still learning how to not make such a big watery mess when doing maintenance. I love the small footprint of this top port makes it easy to prime!
