Q: What is the maximum length of hot dog that will fit? My favorite hot dogs are 8½ inches long.

The maximum length that would fit is 6 1/2 inches.

Q: Can you cook a sausage in this?

A sausage would generally be too big to fit. It would work if you had a sausage the same size as a standard hot dog. The issue is diameter more than length.

Q: Sabret long hotdog?? Will it fit??

This item is wonderful but unfortunately any hot dog longer than an Oscar Mayer will not fit in it. The maximum length would be about 6 inches and I doubt a Sabret cut in half would do any good though you could try.
