Glytone Rejuvenating Cream with 20 Free Acid Value Glycolic Acid, Moisturizer, Rich Creamy Emollient, Exfoliate, Normal to Dry Skin, 1.7 Fl Oz

I have used Glytone glycolic acid for over 10 years in addition to my effective and simple skin care routine that includes tretinoin. My skin has made dramatic visible improvements in texture, improving fine lines and luminosity and honestly looks better than when I was 25.This glycolic acid formulation offers the highest OTC available and must very gradually increased or (word to the wise), it will chemically burn your skin. Use only an amount equivalent to the of a large pea to cover face (including behind the ears), neck (including all the way around), chest (avoid between breasts if your breasts touch in the center, this has caused my skin to burn) backs of hands/fingers. Less is more.It has a very moisturizing consistency and produces visible improvements in fine lines, texture, pores and luminosity. Unlike tretinoin which takes months to notice even subtle improvements, you will notice improvements with glycolic acid within as little as a week.My skin is somewhat of a paradox as it is both very sensitive with roceasa from my Northern European ancestry yet my dermatologist classifies it as "resistant" after having multiple IPL treatments for spider veins and telangiectasias from with roceasa in which she had to drastically increase the settings following each session due to lack of destruction of the veins when compared to other patients with similar skin types. And stranger yet, it improved my roceasa in a way the prescription creams finacea and metronidazole never did. I have also had a few sebaceous hyperplasia lesions over the years that are now a thing of the past because the Glytone glycolic acid exfoliates the dead skin cells that contribute to the over production of sebum associated with this skin disorder.I started with the lowest percentage, progressing as directed by Dr Cynthia Bailey's (Oprah's dermatologist) blog recommendations. I now the use the 20% morning and night on face, neck, chest and hands. Taking a break for a day or two if my skin becomes overly dry. Word of caution, it produces a tingling effect that when severe feels like burning, again less product is more until you determine your skin's tolerance. Also makes your skin temporarily more sensitive, this went away for me a few weeks, but with each step up in the acid percentage returned for a short time. And always use sun block as it will increase your sensitivity to the sun and you will burn sooner and more easily than before.I only use a handful scientifically proven products that contain ingredients that are backed by trusted and leading dermatologists (Dr Cynthia Bailey and Dr Brandith Irwin maintain extensive blogs about skin care in layman's terms. Paula's choice is also a great resourse). In addition to those sites, start reading scholarly research artcles at ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/.And do not rely on woman's magazines to provide unbiased recommendations. You simply need to leaf through the pages of advertisemnts selling us $200 moisturizers that feel amazing on the skin but moisturizes no differently than CeraVe or Cetaphil. Glytone glycolic acid is my number one favorite skin care product. I will be 51 this year and I am consistently mistaken for early thirties.Glytone's formulation of glycolic acid is incredibly effective, reasonably priced, and a small amount of product goes a long way.

It DOES tingle when you first put it on , but that’s how you know it’s working ! Keep away from lips and eyes and any open areas ( it will sting!) but great for the rest of your face . Make sure to wash hands after applying !

I used to work with a world renowned Dermatologist (locally in Seattle) & he’s had this product line on his retail shelves for over 25 years. If you want extremely beautiful facial skin, start out with Level 1, then Level 2 thereafter. This product line exfoliates like no other! Spendy but worth it! Dilute with SPF if it causes irritation. ALWAYS FOLLOW MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS!! VERY VERY STRONG! Works great for dry calloused feet!!

I use this twice a week. It's pretty potent. It makes my face glow.

I bought the 2nd jar before I finished the 1st jar which I really liked; however, the 2nd jar arrived before I finished the 1st. I just opened the 2nd jar & it is defective! It is not a cream, it is dry & pasty; consequently, I cannot use it! It is NOT a cream! When I tried using it, it just caked in chunks on my face. It is definitely the same product!I am on a subscription plan, but I am concerned about receiving & paying for another jar if it is defective. I was informed that I cannot return it as the date passed a few days ago!I was not aware of this and, as mentioned, I ordered it early so that I would be able to continue using it every night.I was really very happy with my 1st jar & I'm terribly disappointed with the 2nd order. I’m not sure if I want to continue the subscription plan if this is what may occur again.I’m also upset that I did not know that there is a return time limit that I missed by a few days! That’s not a good business practice!I order things I like before they run out because I work & don’t want to forget to have it in hand; thus, I did go on the subscription plan, but I may cancel it.Please let me know if there is anything I can do except throw the $58.00 jar away!

Based on other reviews, I hoped to have a 5-star experience. I am not DISpleased with the product, but I’m not recognizing that it does any more than other higher-end products I have used. I have extremely dry skin all over my body, and it is particularly difficult to manage on my face during cold weather months. I have also been on a temporary assignment for the past year that has had me living in another state where it is much colder and dryer than my home. So, in fairness, as I return to my “normal” environment very soon, I plan to continue using the Glytone to see if that makes a difference in the results I experience, and will happy update my review as appropriate.

Where has this been all my life? I'm not gonna lie (lying is very bad) but I skipped the whole step thing right to Step 3. Now, I paid for it dearly because the sting was very noticeable but if you're buying a face cream with a gallon of acid in it, what do you honestly expect? If you have used other peel-type product before then the string would not be too bothersome and it goes away rather quickly. Holy cow, though!! Talk about skin resurfacing. If you use self-tanner, however, expect for this sucker to eat it right off your face. I know, Captain Obvious Strikes Back... But really, don't expect to have a tan face. On a serious note, it does make the skin look noticeably smoother and I have the bumpy smoker's skin with large pores. The skin is smoother, supple and it does give you a glow. The difference is stunning. I was not paid for this review but if you like what you see, I'd love to try other products... If you're picking up what I'm putting down. At least you know you can expect an honest review.
