LA-CO 44094 Slic-Tite PTFE Gas Line Pipe Thread Tape, Premium Grade, [260" Length, 1/2" Wide], Yellow

I was not really happy getting the material because I wanted to buy something that was very professional. As I have a dryer that's hard to get to and I want to make sure it's sealed well. This material fell apart after simply applying the tape to the threads it would not seal. I am very familiar with ceiling gas pipes as well as any other kind of water etc. But this one here did not work like the generic stuff that I get at the big box store. I use the stuff I paid one dollar for in a sealed find this one here did not work very well and simply shredded upon using it. Not worth trying to return it. But it was not as expected.

I have read other reviews complaining about the thickness of this tape and it not sealing leaks. All I can say is, those people are either stupid or received the wrong product. This stuff is thick, especially compared to regular teflon tape. I am a HVAC technician with a mechanical background. This tape works well and I have sealed many gas connections with it to date.

Used this LA-CO yellow gas line tape with AstroAl closed flow chuck and the Milton 1/4” NPT tank valve on a Dewalt DCC020I 20v air compressor and love it. The screw on/off connector of the Dewalt is awesome and will last longer. But for the airbags on the back of my truck screwing it off would drop the PSI a few and I was getting tired of that. I used the closed flow AstroAl chuck and I’m happy with that. With the chuck not on a valve stem, if I turn the compressor on it’ll build to the set PSI fast and stop. Holds are tight, no leaks with the gas line tape used. So after filling my tires and airbags I clip it right off. Perfect. Only down side is I then press the chuck stem against the screw of my rock tamer mud flaps to release the air from the Dewalt line, because this tape with the quality products means it’ll hold that air forever and be under pressure. Which I am happy with because the seal this made is air tight. A buddy and I put Firestone ride right airbags on his truck a few days ago, and he loved my Dewalt air compressor (he has tons of dewalt 20v stuff already and got me turned to Dewalt). So when he gets his I’ll be giving him This tape, the second AstroAl air chuck, and second Milton 1/4” NPT tank valve.

I’ve been dragging a set of logs around for about 30-years and finally decided to convert a fireplace in our current hope from wood burring to gas logs and some thread sealant was needed. This tape seems to have done the trick and at about 4-bucks I got a lot more than I’ll ever need. I have a very cramped crawl space and running gas pipe isn’t so hard to install but it’s a bear to uninstall to get to a joint that’s leaking so I used a lot of wraps on each thread to make sure I didn’t have to crawl back in there to do it again. This is much easier to work with than the goop and brush I previously used that had gone pretty much solid in the container so if I need more tape in the years to come this will still be useable.

Worked great for propane connections on a new water heater. About 10 connections made with no leaks to add a debris trap in the gas line and hook up the yellow flex hose. Only four stars because I also used on the water expansion tank pipe threads and had slow drips there until I removed this and put in the cheap white teflon tape there. Not sure why that sealed the water connection better than this gas tape.

If yellow is your color then you will be very happy. I have used white all my life so being hidden color means absolutely nothing. The tape does however want to stick together so caution in your lengths.

They make it look like you are getting a 12 pack but you only get one roll. Complete false advertising.

Got this for my gas line for my 8n tractor. I use it on all fittings now. It will hold up to gasoline, motor oil and hydraulic fluid. And, great for pneumatic tools!

The tape is decent but does not pull into the threads easily; it's quite thick and stiff.Besides that, the add makes it look like you will get a box of 12 or 13 rolls, but I received no box. Just a single roll.

works great , no issues for single jobs. Ill prob never need to use this again but it worked out great.

Terrible tape does not work into the threads when tightening. Spins with connector keeps leaking. Had to go to hardware store and buy other gas line tape which worked great.

Some tips:Wrap tape tightly around threads once.Overlap the ends and pull to break off. Perfect seal. I am very happy.
