Compact and light. Great for practice or garage band.
To my surprise, this unit can handle the B string too. Quite a feat for a small cabinet with 8" speakers. I am pleased with the fidelity and the absence of any 60 cycle hum. The controls are straightforward and work well, just as they did on my other Peaveys.The Kosmos-C switch boosts the lowest range, but can also amplify unwanted noises. I keep it off.I think 200 watts is overstated. It is about as loud as the Basic 60 I used to have. If that is all you need, you will like the MAX 208.

Peavey knocks it out of the park
Great sound from this amp. Punchy and clear, the Kosmos subharmonics feature works as advertised. Peavey specs this as 120 watts rms, 200 watts advertised peak.Compared to other smaller bass amps in this price range, it's advantage is more bottom end, and portability.Cabinet shape is unique for this price range, metal grille gives me confidence this unit will keep on rocking for years.
