These therapies hold a wonderful potential for psychological and emotional recovery
These therapies hold a wonderful potential for psychological and emotional recovery. In these times so many people are struggling with the pain and commotion of their emotional and mental state regardless of any and all achievements. I am a health practitioner by calling as well as training. I am a yoga teacher for several decades. Since the late eighties and continuing on with a certificate from Beth Israel Medical Center and Harvard I began more one on one therapeutic applications using yoga, pranayama and meditation. Sacred Therapies are supremely effective. Yes there is the cost. One must bring the desire to heal. One must give oneself just a little of the gift of one's own inherent courage and willingness to practice in order to face the transformation! Yes these are the cost but practitioner or client, teacher or student will see that the rewards are priceless.

Profound, Life-Changing
This book saved my life. After a prolonged traumatic event I had half a dozen mental health issues. These protocols eliminated and alleviated all of them. Furthermore, they enhanced my life for the better in areas that I didn’t know I was lacking in. Kundalini Yoga is a profound practice. All I’ve done is watched online videos, practiced from this book, and attended one info session - from that I’ve become aware of things I was never aware of beforehand…it helped me grow mentally and spiritually. I highly recommend this book.

This book helped me recover from long COVID
I had purchased this book out of idle curiosity well before I contracted COVID. It had been sitting on my shelf, mostly unread and definitely unappreciated.I was fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID when I caught it. After my "recovery", I was stuck with four persistent problems (ignoring my loss of taste and smell, which came back in a month): phlegm in my throat; loss of appetite (my weight dropped by 7 kg / 15.5 lbs); diarrhea; and last but not least, a powerful feeling of anxiety. I sensed that the diarrhea and anxiety were connected; regardless, the anxiety alone was putting my work in jeopardy and ruining my personal life. In my frantic search for a solution I remembered this book. I grabbed it off my shelf and quickly found Chapter 2, a protocol for general anxiety. I started practicing this protocol in full every morning. I experienced some relief within a few days, and after two weeks my anxiety was about 80% gone. It continued to decrease further in the weeks that followed. Later I combined this protocol with a couple other exercises I found in the same Yoga tradition; doing all that, I was able to recover 100% of my mental health three months after falling sick.COVID is a savage disease that can cause long-lasting harm, mental as well as physical. If anyone you know is struggling with mental health problems after contracting COVID, please bring this book to their attention.

Reclaim the Body Temple through These Practices
This book is filled with simple yet powerful methods and techniques to clear chronic pain and manage stress. It is helpful for everything from psychiatric disorders to everyday stress management. I have found it most instructive and the practices easy to read and implement. I use this for myself and for my yoga students and stress management clients.

The Best Reference Book for Healing Disabling Behavior
As a kundalini yoga teacher my practice attracts people of all ages and degrees of suffering and mental illness. We are all a bit cray cray just different degrees. But this book illustrates the most profound techniques for eliminating the behavior patterns of all types of disabling thought patterns. I'm so grateful for this book as I have students with bipolar, dislexia, severe brain injuries etc. but the average person is suffering perhaps from inability to sleep to deep rooted anger and grief and all of these are addressed in this one very important reference book. I highly recommend it.

Best Therapy I Have Ever Found !
The OCD protocol mentioned in the book was a godsend for me. It very reliably decreases anxiety. It takes time (close to 1 hour) and effort but results can be felt just within 1-2 weeks of consistent practice, may be earlier. Just be consistent and stick to it. I have also been working on a meditation technique to shorten and deepen sleep as mentioned in this book and it is also awesome. I am grateful to the author David-Shannahoff Khalsa for his path-breaking research in mind-body dynamics and for bringing out this masterpiece.

Great resource but requires patience!
It is so great that this book was written. I really appreciate that someone realizes the importance of meditation as part of any treatment program. However, as someone with ADD, it is very difficult to learn and follow the protocol in the book. I am a very hands on, visual learner, so reading instructions on 11 different meditations to be done in sequence (that requires a lot of stopping) just doesn't work for me and I felt very frustrated. My brain is just not wired to learn the intricacies of this practice through a book. If I had that kind of focus I wouldn't be seeking help! I am going to be searching for videos on how to do some of the meditations listed here, one at a time. Please make a DVD to go along with this book, it would be EXTREMELY helpful!!!!

Amazing source
This is an amazing book that is full of kundalini yoga routines that transform a person. The explanations are easy to understand, and it is well illustrated so that you can easily see what the pose looks like. This book is no joke. If you do these exercises, you will transform your experience of life. That is the bottom line truth. I love this book so much that I bought an additional copy for a friend.

A great hope
I have never wrote a book review before. This is not because I have not seen benefits from reading them, but because they have not been life changing for me. This is the first one.For the last several years, I ve been going to therapy because of neuroses and fears that had been growing. I started to feel hopeless because I did not see results. Then I started the following the phobia section in the book, and hace seen great results IN JUST ONE WEEK, and I expect to see more in the following weeks of practice.I hope this book will be the aid for your psychological problems that you been looking.

Excellent book with life changing experience
I started practicing the OCD breathing exercises since late July, 2019. I can fee a great sense of calmness and inner peace despite only recently i.e. less than a month of reaching the full 15 sec each breath protocol. I can feel an inner transformation, much better than the clutter of the OCD mind. I strongly advise the book and recommend all hard to treat OCDs to keep trying to reach the 31 min protocol.

Yoga has so much to give - through Sacred Therapies/Kundalini Yoga I can feel it
Tamaso Ma Jyotir Gamaya is Sanskrit and means lead us from darkness to light. This sentence was part of a yoga prayer I used to chant on my healing journey in India. From the beginning on I was interested in the meaning. When somebody translated it to me, I was fascinated and thought to myself. Yeah, that's it, man. You are going from darkness to light. But try to explain that to somebody who is in a dark state. In Theory it sounds so simple, but in practice it's a long way.Believe me, I really saw the darkness of life. For sure it wasn't easy. I was struggling with mental health problems for 4 years and I'm still not off the hook. But let me put in a quote here:"It is better to take many small steps in the right direction than to make a great leap forward only to stumble backward."In the last 4 years I did more small steps in the right direction then small steps in the wrong direction.Despite it was sometimes exhausting to move always on in small steps. With "Sacred Therapies" and Kundalini Yoga I experienced a big wholesome step forward in the last couple of months.Thank you so much, Mr. Shannahoff-Khalsa.Love to all, Light to all, Peace to all
