Useful fan with some extra thought put in
Upon receiving my portable fan and doing some checking and testing, I will say that overall I am pleased with my purchase. I will cover a few points here that I hope can be helpful and maybe answer some questions the reader may have.Intended use: I bought this fan to be used during the late spring and summer months in my 4-person Coleman dome tent. I wanted to suspend it from the top center loop that is sewn in place to provide a bit of a relief breeze and to circulate the air a bit (to minimize condensation).Thoughts: First impression was that the fan was of good build quality for the price, in my opinion. We all know these things can be hit or miss, but this one is actually a pretty decent little fan.The most important consideration for most is going to be fan output. I can say it’s a little stronger than I expected, and here is a rough estimate of its reach for those trying to get some kind of idea:Low setting- can be felt at about 2-3 feetMedium setting- can be felt at about 4-5 feetHigh setting- can be felt at about 6-7 feetBy “felt”, I mean “still perceptible”... but not “blast your face off”. Hope that helps. The light is controlled independently of the fan, and has 3 brightness settings. I feel they are about right for the amount of light you‘d want in a tent at night. The lights are mounted in a way so that they do not cast shadows when the fan is moving. This could have been a problem if you were camping with pets that like to chase things or that get freaked out easily. The fan holds its position well and it will rotate to pretty much any angle you’d like. The “scent/mosquito” pads are a nice little extra touch which I would never have thought of myself. It comes with two of them and only one of them fits in at a time, so you will have one spare. It says they are cotton, but they are more like the texture of a makeup sponge. That‘s good though, and I expect they would hold up and function better than a cheaper cotton pad.The only issue I could see here would be if you needed to replace them for whatever reason. They are only held in by friction, so you’d have to be creative or use some kind of tape if you wanted to make your own. Not a big deal. The pad sits in a little cutout area directly behind the center of the fan blade (on the backside of the casing) and is easily accessible. The charging cable that came with it is of good quality. You may choose to use your own though, as this one may not be long enough for all uses. Still, USB micro cables are so ubiquitous that this won’t even matter to most people. So why do I even bring it up then? Well, because I have found that the charging cable included with a device can often be a very subtle indicator of overall product quality. If a device comes with a paper thin, shoddy USB cable, it likely means the company is cutting corners any way they can. Never a good thing when you’re the customer.Pros:- I like that this fan has rechargeable batteries and that it can still run while charging... so you never have to deal with the heat (or darkness) for hours while waiting for it to charge up again. That’s a big plus for me.- Quality is good for such a relatively inexpensive fan. Comes with some nice bonus features that many similar fans lack.- Customer service seems to care what we think about their product. I will update my review regarding any personal experience with them.Cons:- Not a true “con” because of the “use while recharging” feature, but it would have been nice if the fan could use more standard rechargeable batteries like AA or AAA, so that I could immediately swap out a fully charged set. You *could* still do this, because the two included batteries are indeed standardized— they’re just not nearly as easy to find and from what I’ve seen are quite a bit more expensive. I’m sure there was a reason for this choice, though... and as said, it’s not a concerning issue for 99% of users.Overall, the fan is worth the price in my opinion and I will update my review if anything substantial happens or if my thoughts change throughout its use. Otherwise, you can assume my opinion still stands and this has my stamp of approval.

Nice Little Fan!
We bought this fan to accompany a large tent we purchased for the beach this weekend. It arrived quickly and was packed well. The three settings for the fan all throw out a good amount of air. The LED light is bright and I find it very convenient that you can charge the batteries without taking them out of the fan. The kids were dying to try out the tent and fan when we got it. After we charged the fan, we had it running on high for 3 hours and it showed no signs of losing steam! Will update after beach trip on battery life!UPDATE!We spent over 5 hours at the beach with this fan on high, it was perfect! The added sponge to make the fan cooler in the back of the fan really made it cold.

Recommended but be careful what you charge with
I've tested this for a grand total of two nights in a tent in our back yard with my 10yo son. The first night, I plugged the fan in using an iPhone adapter, the small 1" square ones. I woke up at 3 am, the fan was off, and the adapter was pretty toasty. The next night, I used a power supply from a Raspberry Pi 3 and had no issues the entire night. Fan stayed on until morning at full speed. I'm reasonably certain the little adapter couldn't handle the load but under the circumstances, having the fan shut down completely was about the best case scenario. As for the fan itself, it does the job. Between the hook and the fan's two rotational axis, you can position it pretty much how you want. It delivers a pretty good burst of air, enough to let us sleep through the night in 27-30 degree weather in central America in a small 2-person tent (albeit with the outer flap open). The noise is noticeable on full blast but again, we slept fine until the cat realized his feeders were close at hand at 5:30 in the morning.

A little pricey for what it is, but worth it if you are desperate for a little air flow.
I sleep with a fan on at home but wanted something for when I am camping. recently used it on a two night event and while it was not as good as I had hoped, it was better than I expected. night light has 3 settings, the brightest of which is good enough for tasks or reading and the lowest is just enough to function without overdoing it if you wake up in the night. Fan speed also has 3 settings. I like as much air flow as possible so I left it on high. It was enough, but could have lasted longer. Got about 6 hours till it died. That is not bad, but I would love to see a version with and additional battery inside to increase the run time. Would have been worth the extra weight too. Speaking of, the over all weight is super light. It does take up a little more volume in a pack than it looks, but was still worth it considering I will only use it in the hottest months of the year, when I am not lugging extra clothes around at the same time.

There are better fans that cost less. I kept the other one (that looks identical) & returned this.
I was shopping for a fan to hang in a camping tent to provide light when needed, and air movement. I found a couple that were almost identical, but with a $5.00 difference in price - so I got both with the intention of returning one if it was inferior.I'm reviewing this product (Brand: COMLIFE ASIN: B07TZWXNMD) with this one (Brand: SkyGenius ASIN: B083BPJYD6). There was a clear winner, the SkyGenius ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083BPJYD6/ )I'll let the photos and short video speak for themselves. This COMLIFE has a rather dim lighting setup, with 4 LEDs that aren't the brightest, even on the highest setting. I do appreciate that they are warm white, rather than cool. I took the photos when they both at the highest brightness setting, with ambient lighting in the background. The SkyGenius has 16 LEDs that are brighter than the COMLIFE, and they're arranged in a circular array, rather than just 4 (one at each corner) like the COMLIFE.The COMLIFE fan makes more fan motor noise than the SkyGenius, hopefully, you can tell from the video. It also has a fixed internal battery, of which I dunno the specifications. The SkyGenius has two removable/replaceable18650 batteries. The controls and USB charging ports are the same on both fans.I did not test the battery life of either unit, so I can't comment on that. Perhaps the COMLIFE is dimmer so the batteries will last longer. But the fan motor noise shouldn't be louder, even if it spins at a lower rate.I'm returning the COMLIFE and keeping the SkyGenius, it's better and costs less.
