The Good - Great fit and finish. The unit itself installs and feels just like OEM. Camera picture quality is very good (RCA version to RCD-330 head unit).The Bad - The guide lines are so narrow that they indicate the inside of the tires! That’s about 2 feet too narrow, if you include the width of the mirrors. And that’s on a small 2012 Golf.! They are useless, not to mention dangerous. If only there was a way to adjust them, this camera would get 5 stars.I contacted the manufacturer (Navinio) about it and was told, “sorry the lines can’t be adjusted, but if you want to remove them, just cut the white wire”. That’s actually opposite of reality. The camera out of the box, has a white wire loop (no guide lines). If you cut the loop, then you get the inaccurate lines. That’s probably why it wasn't even mentioned in the installation instructions. I had to reconnect the wire loop (no guide lines) as it was just an accident waiting to happen.Now I have a camera that I specifically purchased because It had guidelines, but found out after 2.5 hrs installation time, they are unusable. I know I can’t be the only one out there.

I have a sideways picture I checked all wires multiple times read through the forums cut the white wire it gave me guide lines but the picture is still sideways please help!!! Ok so I figured it out disassemble the camera and place it right side up.

The media could not be loaded.  i love the durability, authentic feel, forward design. this piece will maintain the trunk open functionality and the camera will actually “disappear” into the bezel when not in use.i purchased the “total tech” package (one year for 199$) from best buy as i want to upgrade my 4 cars audio/back up cameras and they said they had never seen or installed a camera like this. it functions great with the after market stereo and even has guide lines when in reverse.

Product description says it fits a “Golf 5” which “should” mean MK5. In USA the car is sold as Rabbit but is identical. Some reviewers show it installed in a Rabbit. However, my pro installer and myself (engineer and hobby machinist) can’t figure out how to physically install it without cutting hatch metal as well as an ear off the wiper motor. No good and no way.
