The Dukes of Hazzard: Season 2
C**S
If you didn’t watch it you missed out.
At a young age of 2 I was singing along with Waylon Jennings watching that beautiful orange car with 01 on the doors fly through the sky. I am a collector of DOH die cast general Lee cars. And before too long my dream is coming true and I’m gonna have my own General Lee. I don’t care if it was part of the show or not just as long as everything is right on it as far as colors go and parts match. But to any kids out there…put the iPads down or whatever you Zombies are into and Watch “The Dukes of Hazard” from Epi 1 all the way thru. You can thank me later. #DaisyDukes

Yeeeehaaaaa
The Dukes of Hazzard is one of my favorite series. I can't wait until I got all seasons in my possession. To Warner Brothers: Please publish the Enos series on DVD and all the great chasin' background music by the Waylords on audio CD. I would pre-order today! The SetupThe series takes place in a little county named Hazzard, which don't exist in real life. Hazzard county is squeezed in between several southern states located east of the Mississippi and south of the Ohio. The nearest big town is Atlanta. The oppositionHazzard county is run by one man, Jefferson Davis Hogg aka. J. D. Hogg or Boss. Boss owns the town bank, hold most folks moorages and runs the local drinking hole, The Boars Nest - where the beer is as flat as Holland. Boss also love food, he eats all the time - in fact he is the biggest man in Hazzard both in size and wealth.Boss is married to Lulu, she is Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane sister, and Rosco is Boss's right hand, and they split right down the middle 90% to Boss and 10% to Rosco, why? Boss can't bear having Rosco put into a higher income tax class ;-(Enos Strate and Cletos Hogg is Rosco's deputies, they are both very clumsy, and couldn't catch a Duke, even if he/she were driving with one hand. The Duke familyUncle Jesse is the Duke patriarch, he lives with Bo, Luke (The Duke Boys) and Daisy.Luke is the brain, and Bo is the driver - however they both through a pretty good punch in a fair fight and must be born behind a wheel.Daisy works for Boss at the Boars Nest, ironic because she often overhears Boss and Rosco plan how to catch and jail the duke boys.Cooter Davenport, the local mechanic, is a deer friend of the Duke family, and he often help Bo and Luke proof themselves innocence from one of Rosco's crop up charges. Why is The Dukes of Hazzard so popularFirst of all, is isn't a typical 90's studio series, it involves a lot of car chases and other scenes out door. In average two-three General Lee cars is crashed in each episode! Then you have the good background music to the car chases, you got the stupidity of Rosco, Enos and Cletos, often when they chase Bo and Luke, they end up totally crashing their own patrol cars. Also the fact that though Boss and the Duke family are enemies, they sometimes work together fighting a common enemy. Jesse and Boss go way back to before Boss become crocked and mean. They used to run moonshine together - that means that they made Whisky and were often chased by the police trying to deliver the Whisky. And for you guys, yes - that's right, Daisy Duke. The BalladeerFinally I must mention the Ball leader, Waylon Jennings - yep its the famous country singer. He binds the story together with a few nicely put comments now and then, always before and after a commercial break. He has even written the title music.Live Long and ProsperRené Paw Christensen[...]

Season 2 does not disappoint
Warner Brothers should be congratulated for their fantastic presentation with THE DUKES OF HAZZARD, SEASON 2.The sound quality and picture are both crisp and clear, probably more so than when these episodes originally aired on CBS in 1979-1980. The packaging is absolutely superb...great pictures, some never before seen, and it includes a great 1979-era cast photo inside, and everyone is present, including Sonny Shroyer.I really enjoyed the extra features as well: the screen tests for John Schneider and Tom Wopat were fascinating to see after all these years, and I hope more things like this see the light of day on future releases of the DUKES. The annual DukesFest celebration is also highlighted, and this coverage includes interviews and footage of original stars Shroyer (Enos), Catherine Bach (Daisy), Rick Hurst (Cletus), Ben Jones (Cooter) and James Best (Rosco), who were all guests at the DukesFest event. Footage of the event also includes a stunt show, profiles and pictures of individuals who own replicas of the General Lee, and even a hidden easter egg, showing the original cast clowning around with the crowd, led by Bach and Shooter Jennings, Waylon's son, who leads a sing-a-long of the DUKES theme.Season 2 featured some of the DUKES OF HAZZARD's best episodes, including "Days of Shine and Roses," "People's Choice," "Granny Annie," "Find Loretta Lynn" and of course, "The Ghost of the General Lee," one of the best episodes of the entire series. A previous reviewer had a concern about "Carnival of Thrills" not being included here, but the episode did air in the third season, even though it was filmed late in the second. Photos that appear on the packaging of any TV on DVD set are usually not always just resigned to that particular season. And quite frankly, I saw the photo and on first glance, I didn't expect "Carnival of Thrills" to appear on this set, nor did I immediately associate the picture with that episode.Highly recommended, and much looking forward to the release of seasons 3-7. I just hope we don't have to wait too long for Season 3 to appear.

Family fun and great nostalgia
I bought this marvellous box set on a nostalgia driven whim. I am so pleased that I did. There I was, sitting watching the first disc, when my 8 year old daughter wandered in. She was transfixed and after a little bit of an explanation of the core plot (let's face it , it didn't alter very much from episode to episode), she was transfixed, so much so that I have had to order another series to keep up with the demand !We have now spent several happy hours being entertained by Bo, Luke and Uncle Jessie. We have been tickled by the buffoonery of Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane and his "little fat buddy" Boss Hogg (and Dad has quite enjoyed watching the delectable Daisy again).Great family entertainment, car chases, shenanigans, good guys, bad guys, double crosses and no one ever gets really hurt by any of it !Brilliant.
