Benchmade - Mini Boost 595 Knife, Drop-Point Blade

This is a great EDC knife from Benchmade. The axis lock was a little “sticky” for a bit, but over time that subsided well. No side play in the blade at all, and it’s perfectly centered in the handle. The S30V blade steel is holding an edge very well. I expect this knife to serve me well for many years to come.

This is really a beautiful knife. I don't understand a critical review that says the assisted opening is slow -- it is practically instant. Technically, it's not a switchblade, which I don't want, but I don't care for the difference (probably micro-seconds). Very light and sharp. Wears low in the pocket.

I live in Colorado where the concealed carry blade lenght maximum is 3 1/4 inches, the mini boost at blade lenght of 3 inches is perfect for an EDC knife. Wicked sharp and importantly, it holds sharp nicely even with EDC demands. Boost mechanism is super solid and lock/release is rock hard and easy to release one handed. Yes, other assisted opening knives are faster, I have them, but none of them are as rock hard and easy to keep sharp as a benchmade.

I absolutely love this blade. It is my first Benchmade and won’t be my last. It is extremely light and well balanced. The size is great for low profile carry. The S30V steel is ultra tough and holds a beautifully sharp edge. At fist I hesitated using it in the shop because of how light it was, but quickly overcame that once I saw the quality and durability of the blade. It is now a permanent EDC for me. The handle feels like it sticks to your hand and the axis lock is second to none. The rear lock is amazingly solid with no play in action. Another masterpiece by Benchmade. Highly recommend to all.

I have been every day caring this blade for a little while now and using it for hard work. It holds up to the name and hasn't let me down. It was wicked sharp out of the box and has only needed a little touch up. The one I ordered came sharp but the bevel was slightly uneven on both sides. The opening and closing action works perfectly unless you drop it in sand or lose dirt. If you do happen to drop it just a simple rinse and dry with water and a paper towel get the job done. Highly recommend.
