Now this is fun
What a great little book! 6 stories packed (and I mean packed) into 90 pages. I don't know if I had heard of Father Brown but got this book because I enjoyed a biography of G.K. Chesterton. I'm not really into fiction or mysteries. But this is fun. An underdog hero with Christian morals, a quick wit and worldly wisdom. The stories are energized with Chesterton's vivid descriptions of landscapes, light and darkness and people. And surprises. Good stuff. The book itself - ok I have no right to complain because this was dirt cheap but . . . stories this good deserve a better book; the sentences are really crammed together and spaced so close you find yourself reading the same line again by accident. But at $3.50? Well ok never mind. . .

The Good and Tasty Prose
The novel has a very rich and imagenary language due to the unique personality of the Author. He is very clever person and tells us metaphorically about some concrete things, and you should guess about them, if you are quite intelligent.

Very cheap edition, very short, but nice typesetting and classic stories
This is a very, very short edition- be sure you notice that it is just a few stories. However, the typesetting was fine, and these are lovely stories- a great inexpensive way to try out the Father Brown stories.

Father Brown is a Hoot
Iw anted to read Chesterton's Father Brown short stories after watching an episode of the BBC production of one of them. This is certainly a bargain, but the type is SMALL and the pages not white. I am over 65, so 12-point type would make reading these more enjoyable.Fun, short reads.
