Necessary book to create inclusive workplaces
I recently read "Neurodiversity at Work" by Prof. Amanda Kirby, and I found it to be incredibly helpful in advocating for myself as a neurodivergent individual. The book provided valuable insights and practical strategies for navigating the workplace and leveraging my strengths to achieve success. Moreover, the book is also an excellent resource for helping my coworkers advocate for themselves and create a more inclusive workspace for all. By embracing the diversity of neurodiverse individuals, we can build a more innovative and collaborative workplace that benefits everyone. This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to create an inclusive workplace that celebrates the diversity of all employees. It is a comprehensive guide that provides practical advice and insights on how to support employees with neurodiverse conditions such as autism, dyslexia, and ADHD.Prof. Kirby highlights the strengths that neurodiverse employees bring to the workplace and shares strategies for creating a supportive work environment that maximizes their potential. The book also provides tools and resources for employers to help them understand and accommodate the needs of their neurodiverse employees. One of the most compelling arguments Kirby makes is that creating a neurodiverse inclusive environment at work actually makes the work environment better for all employees. By embracing the unique perspectives and abilities of neurodiverse individuals, employers can foster a more innovative and creative workplace that benefits everyone.Overall, "Neurodiversity at Work" is an insightful and practical guide that should be required reading for anyone in a leadership position. It is an essential resource for creating a workplace that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusivity, and unlocks the full potential of all employees.

I loved it! Buy the bloody book!
Good: The book is a powerful combo that combines research from Professor Amanda Kirby and stories collected from Theo Smith’s podcast. It also covers Neurodiversity systematically and with a fine-tooth comb from job interviews, onboarding ND staff, accommodations, and more. The book is a great reference for organizations seeking to build and enhance their Neurodiversity hiring and training programs. The greatest treasure of all in the book are the stories collected from both authors from many of the world’s ND thought leaders. I recognized many names including: Diane Delaney, Michael Vermeersch, Andrew Williams, Helen Needham, Hunter Hansen, and many more.Bad: The book is UK focused and references UK laws and employment which are less applicable to me in the US, but the research and information are still invaluable and can be applied anywhere. Also, I wish there were more stories covering mistakes organizations made and lessons learned.Biggest of all: There is a missed opportunity that became very apparent to me but one might consider to be outside of the scope of the book. One just needs to cross refence the book with US history in order to see the undiscovered country and the door that can be opened to fundamentally alter a country’s people that is currently unimaginable. Because it is not enough to create change in organizations, the negative stigma around Neurodiversity that exists in the world must also be confronted.Summary: I loved it! Buy the bloody book!

Exhaustively researched and well written guide to ND at work
Being one of the pioneers of this movement I am happy to see a nearly definitive guide on the idea that hiring autistic people is not just a good idea but advantageous to all who do it.The book is well-researched, with good examples and stories from the interviewees. It should serve as a guide for anyone embarking on this adventure, or needing confirmation.

Fantastic book on an important topic
I loved this book. I am very interested in ND at work programs. Yet, there has been a lack of information about DEIB and Neurodiversity in the workplace. More work is needed and this book is a great resource.

Too technical for my taste
This book is not for lay people but for HR professionals

Something for everyone to use
This is an amazing book which should read by all those in the workplace - employers, senior leaders, middle management, line managers, employees. Whatever level, twenty years in, just starting, there is more than something for everyone either neurodivergent or neurotypicali to read, digest, take away and apply and use in their workplace.

Helpful guide with practical advice and plenty of lived experience
Great book, with plenty of advice and guidance, but done in a really easy-to-read style. There are a lot of additional contributions from people and organisations leading in this space.

Brilliant. Must read!!
The book is brilliant at breaking down how to make Neurodiversity part of the work place. It’s very easy to read and understand. Extremely helpful to ensure your workplace is inclusive. Including the hiring and onboarding process. Should be a must read for every HR/CEO/L&D person. Actually, any one in the work place. Everyone can help make the work place Neuroinclusive.

Must read for employers and ND employees alike
I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of this book and it lived up to my (high) expectations. It’s factual, concise and really focuses on the positives of being ND without overlooking the challenges faced by many being forced to live and work in a world that isn’t made for us.The book is written from a neutral standpoint which I really liked as both a manager and ND employee. It’s well researched and links to the research and case law are are provided (really helpful in the Kindle format). The book is easy to navigate, with each chapter clearly defining its contents and it doesn’t need to be read in a linear format, perfect for non-linear ND brains. If you are a business leader and want to increase the support you offer to ND talent, this is the book for you.And if you are an ND employee and unsure how or where to start the conversation with your employer on supporting you in the workplace, this is the book for you.Well done Theo and Amanda, you nailed it for me.
