Q: Will a 14 lb miniature dachshund fit? How high is the lip in the front opening?

I would say yes. We have two cats that easily fit in it together with room to spare. The opening is about 6” from the bottom.

Q: I sent the cat pod bed back packed in its original container by ups on 01/09/19. i still have not received my refund. whats going on?

You go to your order, return pkg, print the RTA, put on your pkg, then drop it off at a UPS store. It is credited to your account the minute you drop it off. Maybe you didn't due this, call them.

Q: Is the bottom of this plastic and waterproof??

No not waterproof at all. The outer material is the same on the bottom. I have mine under a covered porch area.
