The only reason I gave it 4 stars, is the price. I get it, it's 100% Kona and real estate is limited in Hawaii, but the profit margin is still probably tilted towards the greedy end of the scale.Hands down, 100% Kona is the best coffee in the world. Low pH, creamy, yet bold. If you're a coffee drinker, and haven't tried 100% Kona, you haven't lived yet. There are strict laws in Hawaii pertaining to Kona Coffee. If you put 100% Kona on the label, it better be 100% Kona.Take a break from the 'Battery Acid Coffee' and treat yourself to an elite cup of Joe. Make it strong and drink it black or with a tiny bit of milk or cream. Enjoy!

I have tried a few kona coffees from different vendors, and I can say that this one is a very special coffee. I made an order last year and had some issues with one of the two bags I've bought. The coffee lost it's freshness in the 2nd bag and it was very old, dry and tasteless. I was very disappointed by how the same coffee could taste so different in each bag. I wasn't sure what was the problem, cause the 1st bag tasted very pleasant and aromatic. The freshness, texture and delicacy of the coffee took me to nirvana. I was very pleased with the organic taste and smoothness of the coffee. Immediately I knew that this was a very special gourmet coffee.I've tried different regional coffees including, papa new guinea, Kenya AA, Sumatra beans, Jamaican blue mountain ... and others. I have to say that Kona is my favorite by far. The shipping bag comes oxygen free when it's being shipped from the vendor. The air is sucked dry to vacuum seal it. Sometimes they get damaged or punctured during shipping. I guess that's what happened to one of the bags. As you know, coffee and oxygen don't go well together, cause once the coffee is oxidized; it starts losing its freshness and it doesn't taste the way it's supposed to taste.I've made a recent purchase again and I'm very happy with the results. Give this coffee a try before deciding to make a bulk shipment. You have got nothing to lose. Well done Hawaii Roasters. You guys have outdone yourselves.

OK memories are a little unreliable. I tried kona coffee while visiting the kona coast back in '79. I have never had such good coffee before or since. I was invited to a new years party by some friends & knowing what to expect of new years morning I brought this coffee along. True I was not at my best but that's when a really good coffee should stand out. Behold-I was lost but now am found! But no such thing happened. It was about as good as Folgers hyper-hippie blends. But at twice the price. Sorry. I was hoping for the old experience but it didn't happen.

This coffee for some may be fantastic. For me the roasting is over extended. If these beans were a lighter roast, I think this coffee would be great. The roast is just too dark for me. The president was very responsive to my complaint and sent me another bag so I think he truly cares about his product. However, I would only buy again if there was a lighter roast version.

We went to Hawaii a few years ago for vacation and fell in love with 100% Kona coffee. It is the best stuff ever but when we came home, the only kind of Kona coffee we could find was the blended kind and it is nothing like the real stuff. After looking everywhere for 100% Kona coffee, we though we wouldn't be able to find it so I went online to see if it could be ordered online. The growers sell it online but amazon has the same exact brand for a cheaper price so we ordered it every few months from amazon so we can have our great coffee every day. If you haven't tried 100% Kona coffee, dump the blended stuff and give it a try. Our favorite is the medium roast. Yum!

good coffee, but no need to spend this!! did not notice the difference between this and Original Hawaiian Coffee which is WAY less $ and the only coffee i buy now

I am pleased with this coffee It is real smooth and somewhat light coffee,however I'm partial to gevalia's kona coffee, it is very smooth with full body. Over all it is pricey but it is a good coffee.

Tried this because it is 100% Kona and much cheaper than the other national brands I have been using. What can i say i am greatly surprised. Mild, no bite too it and no discernable acidity. This is on my shopping list from now on.
