I am by no means a dancer (a few intro classes, barre3, and years of gymnastics), but I have wanted pointe shoes for many years. I finally talked myself into buying these, but I couldn't bring myself to actually spend a lot of money on them. Overall I would say that I am happy with my purchase, mostly because I didn't have very high expectations. They came fast, and look exactly as pictured: with 2 shoes, 2 gel pads, 2 fabric pads, and one long length of ribbon (to cut into quarters and sew on).These look good and seem to be functional for dancing. My ballerina friend looked at them and said they would work, but are by no means good quality dance shoes. She said she wouldn't personally choose to use them, but she thought that they would be fine for me. She also said something about the shank being too hard and too short.Just for reference, I usually wear shoe size 8.5, but have been known to go down to 8 or up to 9, depending on the type of shoe. I bought these in "US9 (10.04 inch)". They seem a little loose around the heel, but the ties and padding seem to be able to compensate for that. They are not comfortable to stand in, but it's fun to be able to go up on pointe for very brief amounts of time.I think you get what you pay for here. Don't expect to spend only $20 and get good quality pointe shoes. They certainly will work for my purposes though (fun, costumes, etc).

Based on other reviews, I ordered a size up from my street shoe size. MISTAKE! I normally wear an 8 so I ordered a 9. The shoe was probably 3 sizes too big. I was happy with the quality of it for $20. The shank is pretty hard and the box is wide and boxy. I got them to do a photoshoot in the forest thinking I wouldn't care if they got dirty. Because they were SO enormous, I coudn't event use them for the photoshoot, so I had to use my "real" (more expensive) shoes and could not really do the shoot properly because I didn't want to dirty up my $120 shoes. I am going to order again but 3 sizes smaller than the ones I got before. By the way, it said "43" on the bottom of my shoe, and I am a 39 or 40 in European sizes, so I don't think their size chart corresponds correctly. Very strange how everyone else found them too small. Pointe shoes are supposed to fit snugly...

Okay, to be clear my ballet dancing days are in the post for the most part. I bought this pair to wear on a video, thinking to hang them on the wall afterwards. For my purpose, of limited ballet use and decor, I can't believe my luck. They are beautiful. Also came with comfort gel and supports. So inexpensive! OK, maybe not the best choice for a professional ballerina but for the beginning pointe student or balletome, perfect.

Sizing much smaller than anticipated. 2 sizes smaller than expected. And ribbons are plain ribbon, not pointe ribbons.

This is a good option for a performance shoe, it is not meant to last very long. I would recommend buying other ribbon as mine ripped almost immediately.

My daughter absolutely loves them! She cried when she opened the box! She is determined to wear them all the time. Thank you so much for selling them!

Gave these as a Christmas gift, my daughter used them in the living room on the carpet for 2 days and the sole fell off! Horrible quality!

These shoe are horrible they are not real ballet shoes they don’t have any support.
