This is my second cover for Surface Pro. I had one for the Surface Pro 5 with a metal kickstand. This version for the Surface Pro 8 has a plastic kickstand. It is neither the same quality nor the same usability as the metal version. In addition, the pen holder will not work with the Surface Pen 2. It simply does not fit in the holder. Thus this also prevents it from charging on the device.Overall, this cover is inferior to previous versions and makes the Surface Pen 2 useless since it has no way of charging except via the keyboard if you have that version keyboard.I would not recommend and am considering sending it back.

When I originally bought this, the 1st time I opened the stand, it broken at the hinge. I returned it for an exchange for the same item. I know things happen, and didn't want to say anything bad about it, so I wanted to give it a second chance. Ok so on to the second one. 5 months later, today I opened the stand like normal, and it broke at the hinge. It looks nice and protective, but that stand isn't worth a darn.

This thing is tight and rugged. It makes my Surface less awkward and tedious to hold while typing on the glass. However, the case destroyed my screen protector, which most likely is the fault of my protector taking up the whole glass and not leaving room for a case to wrap around. I switched to a glass protector and everything is great. I own three cases for my Surface and this is the one I use.

The kickstand broke within a month of use. Not sure what i did to cause it but seems it could have been stronger. Based on the way it's screwed on, it seem that i can be replaced. Maybe they could have replacement kickstands or make them more durable.

The unit fit good, and it was definitely a very good protective device, but the stand cracked and broke at the swivel joint rendering the device completely useless to me. I returned the unit back to Amazon for a full refund (thank you). I really wish it did not break since it seemed to be great protection.

Second one we bought recently. Earlier model had a metal stand, which was both sturdier and easier to use. Recommend buying the one with the metal foot if you have the choice.

I, along with many others, have a huge issue with the kickstand. It seems to have 2 positions with it. It is either standing almost straight up, or it is flat on its back. I have the Metropolis - Black w/ Silver Kickstand for my Surface Pro 4 and it is great! I really wish they would have kept the original kickstand.The case itself is awesome, just please fix the kickstand!

Die mechanischen Teile sind aus billigem Hartplastik, schwergängig und miserabelst miteinander vernietet. Sodass die Ständermechanik bereits nach einer Woche aus der Verankerung brach. Vorgängermodelle waren besser verarbeitet. Verankerungsteile und Stütze waren waren aus Aluminium. Der Einsatz von minderwertigen Hartplastik macht das Teil völlig unbrauchbar - eine reine Fehlkonstruktion. Leider erkennt man auf dem Werbefoto nicht die miese Materialqualität. Nicht kaufen!!!!!

Früher war der Ständer komplett aus Aluminium gefertigt.Jetzt ist das Schanier und der Ständer aus Kunststoff gefertigt. Dadurch wird das Case deutlich leichter.Wäre nicht weiter schlimm wenn, nicht das Schanier ausbricht nach weniger als 100mal aufklappen.Das darf nicht passieren. Die gleiche Hülle für das Surface 4/5/6/7/7+ hat bei mir im Dauerbetrieb jetzt 5 Jahre gehalten. Mit dem Surface 8 benötigte ich eine neue. Aber ledier hat dieses nur vom Januar 2022 bis Anfang Mai 2022 durchgehalten.

Ich hatte diese Hülle schon beim Surface Pro 7, damals noch ohne das SE in der Bezeichnung. Die Hülle für das Surface Pro 8 mag zwar vom Schutz her in Ordnung sein, der Klappfuss aus Kunststoff hingegen ist absoluter Müll. Bei der Metroplos Hülle ohne SE war dieser Fuss aus Metall und deutlich stabiler.Nicht nur, dass die Stütze aus Kunststoff sicherlich nicht lange halten wird, auch steht das Gerät, wenn man es im Tablett Modus benutzt sehr wackelig. Ausserdem rutscht es weg. Für den Preis ganz klare Empfehlng: Finger weg!!Auf dem Foto ist oben die alte Version mit dem Metallfuss, unten die neue Version mit dem Kunststoffschrott zu sehen.

I recently upgraded from the Surface Pro 7 to the Surface Pro 8 and purchased the corresponding case. However, I must express my disappointment with the plastic stand included in the Surface Pro 8 case when compared to the durable metal stand of the Surface Pro 7 case.Having enjoyed the reliability and sturdiness of the metal stand in the previous version, I expected the same level of durability in the new case. Unfortunately, after only a couple of months of use, the plastic stand on the Surface Pro 8 case snapped unexpectedly, leaving me dissatisfied with the product.The decision to replace the metal stand with a plastic one has proven to be a downgrade in terms of quality and longevity. The plastic stand lacks the robustness and stability that I had come to appreciate in the older version.As a loyal customer who relies heavily on the functionality of the Surface Pro, I find it regrettable that the newer model sacrifices durability in favor of other features. A protective case should enhance the longevity and usability of the device, but the plastic stand falls short in delivering a reliable and long-lasting solution.I strongly urge the manufacturer to reconsider their choice of materials for the stand in future iterations or explore alternative designs that provide comparable durability to the previous metal stand. Customers like myself expect a seamless transition between models and should not have to compromise on the quality of essential components.In conclusion, I am disappointed with the plastic stand in the Surface Pro 8 case, especially when compared to the superior durability offered by the metal stand in the Surface Pro 7 case. I hope that the manufacturer takes this feedback seriously and addresses this issue in future iterations, ensuring that customers can rely on their products for extended periods without experiencing premature failure.

I am re-ordering the product. The hinge broke on opening it right out of the box. Return was easy and refund was sent as soon as as I dropped defective product in mail. It does seem flimsier than my UAG Surface Pro 7 cases. I am hoping this is just a one off. 5 stars for easy return process.
