Buy This Book.
This book is one of hundreds available to rugby coaches but this is different. This book does what it says on the cover, it is a guide for fitness and conditioning at any level of the game. Reading it you will find that it breaks down all relevant aspects of fitness specifically designed for the challenges of the game. It also gives a brilliant guide for the goal setting and mental imagery that many of the top players use. I now know why Jonny Wilkinson is so good at his kicking skills. He has "Doris" sitting in the stand to guide him. Brilliant. I believe this book is a "must have" reference and guide for all coaches. Buy it.

RFU guide to fitness and conditioning
I got this book to help with my 15 year old son's training. It gives an excellent insight into all facets of fitness required for rugby and sets out specimen sessions to follow. Its sections on speed and agility and strength training are well illustrated and gives recommendations for different age groups which is particularly important for younger players.I would recommend this to any coach or parent wanting to help their children/players improve their readiness for playing the game at all levels.
