Not recommended for children under 2. It's good quality train, we ended up returning this as not recommended for kids under 2

Cool toy
Very fun toy for the 2 year old with all the lights and being able to see the inside gears working. One major complaint is the sounds are excessively loud. No way to lower the volume. I usually don't play the sound , I just turn the lights and motion on. Goes good on area rug ( low pile ) and turns itself around when it runs I to things.
