Handle broke off after 7 months of occasional light use
I bought this in August 2023 for to carry light percussion instruments. A few days ago, March 2024, I picked it up and the handle just broke right off and the case fell to the floor. It missed my foot, but scratched & dented my hardwood floor. The total weight, including the case was only 24 pounds. It just broke for no reason. I called the support # on the order and got Focus Camera - they supplied it to Amazon but wouldn't honor the MFR 1-year warranty because I bought it through Amazon. Amazon won't honor the warranty because it's from the Manuracturer, not them. So, Amazon DOES NOT STAN BEHIND WHAT THEY SELL!!

Pretty good
I have some odd-shaped musical instruments that don't have cases and were getting dinged up traveling to gigs. I chose this case because it had a good variety of size options and I could get one that fits my instruments without being too big. The case wasn't packed well for shipping and arrived damaged in two places. The vendor offered to exchange it, but I suggested a partial refund and they agreed, so that was resolved well. The foam in the bottom is two separate layers: the top layer is sectioned so you can pull bits out to customize the shape, but the bottom layer is solid, so you have to cut it with a razor knife. After customizing the top section, I realized cutting with a knife gave me more precise shapes, so I moved that layer to the top. Now I need to figure out a glue that would work to attach the layers so they don't pull out when I'm removing the instruments from the case.

Good Pelican Imitation
This case is, like others, a Pelican Imitation. I bought two because the price/ size was right. The cases themselves seem to be solid, injection molded high impact plastic, with standard foam inserts. One panel perforated, the others not. The hinges work, and the closure mechanisms lock tight. The lid has a rubber gasket insuring a seal. I have no idea if they need metal parts to insure closure (other cases have this), and I don't know if they would become undone while being moved amongst other luggage - both in the trunk of a car, loaded by baggage handlers, or in the belly of an aircraft. But the closures do have protection on either side do I'm relatively confident. I cannot compare this closure to others. All I can say is that it works.I have not submerged them in water, but they look like they could hang out in the back of a pickup truck during a blazing downpour and not get the contents wet. Def weatherproof. The hinges are plastic with a metal rod. I have no idea of the durability, but it seems solid. Tolerances are average, as there are imperfections in the mold. Nothing that inhibits it's function (bumpy lines, top may not line up perfectly with the bottom, etc), but nothing that prevented me from keeping them. It also has a pressure lock to open for when traveling in an airplane, but I cannot tell if it has a rubber gasket when closed. The holes for the locks are on the corners on front of the case, as shown in the pics. However, if they had been placed on the inside between the closure and the handle, the padlocks wouldn't be floating on the corners. Think of a box with earrings on each top front corner. This creates dingleberries that can get caught in things and prevent one case from laying flush with the other when side by side. Not a deal breaker for me as I don't see padlocking them.Important : One case appeared to be used, as the logo sticker was pealed off on two corners, there was dust inside the shrink wrapped plastic, and there are three - count 'em - three perforated foam inserts. The advertisement says only one perforated insert is included, while the others are solid. Well, that's how one of the cases arrived - new. One perf, others solid. The used case, apparently during re-packaging, had three perforated foam inserts installed. I now have four total perforated inserts instead of two. This gives me a lot more flexibility. I got the option many people have been clamoring for : Two perf inserts. The used case itself is practically new aside from the peeling logo sticker (which I would have probably tried to peel off as well). It's easy to see how many of these cases come from the same manufacturer, and re-labeled as a different brand.Very solid, the hinges and closures work well, and the plastic is durable. On the whole, I can recommend this case. The only reason I give it three stars is because one of the cases appeared to be used, re-packaged, and the delivery was delayed.
