An interesting book about the importance of water in our lives.
One seldom thinks about the importance of water even though it is so much part of every living creature on earth. Lately, I began to do some research into the importance of water and when I saw this 156 page soft cover book (The Water Prescription: for health, vitality and rejuvenation by Christopher Vasey) on Amazon for a bargain price I decided to purchase it.This interesting and informative book explains in detail not just the many reasons to drink more water, but the specific kinds and contents worldwide. The 7 chapters cover the following material:Water and the human body, the cycle of water in the body, the harm caused by dehydration, thirst, what to drink, the body’s water needs and ten remedies for rehydrating the body.If you are seeking a clear and informative book on the importance of water in our lives you should check out this book.Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Martial Arts and Warrior Haiku and Senryu).

Water, Water Everywhere
I found this book surprisingly entertaining. I thought it might bore me, but no. There really is always more to learn about water and how it is used in the body. Is bottled water better than tap water? What about spring water? Mineral water? The choices can get really confusing. This book not only gives a great overview of how our bodies use water, but it also prescribes certain waters (based on mineral content) and amounts to drink for certain health conditions, such as ADD and many others problems. It rates dozens, possibly hundreds, of bottled waters that are sold in the US and all over the world. I was surprised to find that a local mineral spring where I go for sparkling water rated very high in many performance aspects. I have also read this author's book The Acid-Alkaline Diet for Optimum Health.

very informative
This book explained the many principles of water hydration and how to best accomplish hydration for the body. I found the content easy to understand as written by Dr. Vasey. I especially enjoyed the section on the 10 ways to rehydrate and would like to try several of the methods.

Interesting.
Good book and interesting theory. I do drink more water, but I just can't seem to find the time to get a schedule to drinking water and I still have yet to finish this book.

So much information.....
I read a great book on the same subject, water, a while ago. Water: For Health, for Healing, for Life: You're Not Sick, You're Thirsty! gave me a lot of useful information but somehow, although we think that there is not much to know about water other than the fact that we should drink 2 liters a day, I felt compelled to read a bit more and I was right! I have to say that I wasn't sure that one could add a lot of information to the book of Dr. Batman's book but boy, was I wrong..... This book is very well written without repetitions, which are one of the biggest problems of modern books! Especially the chapter on mineral and spring waters is very interesting; it gives the reader information about mineral and spring water in a number of countries. Then there are lists for those interested in for example waters rich in calcium, waters rich in magnesium, waters rich in silica, waters rich in iron, manganese, lithium, etc. There are several cures according to what you want to achieve. You have for example the Hydration and Deacidification Remedy if you want to deacidify the internal cellular environment of the body, Hydration and Remineralization Remedy, etc. One thing I didn't understand was how one finds out if one suffers from extracellular thirst or intracellular thirst. Without knowing that one doesn't know whether to add salt to the drinking water or not. I read that chapter several times but I still don't understand how to decide which thirst one suffers from.As far as cholesterol goes I think that it is now fully known that the food one eats doesn't change a thing in the amount of cholesterol in the body. There are a few very interesting books on this matter! If the liver makes a lot more cholesterol than we will ever be able to eat why do experts still go on telling us that the food we eat does influences the amount of cholesterol in the body? Very annoying! The bottom line is that we need to be very well informed and not take all the official information we get from governments for granted, like drink 2l of water a day! I started drinking much more water and started having health problems at the same time so even with water one needs to be careful and needs to know what one is doing! Water: For Health, for Healing, for Life: You're Not Sick, You're Thirsty!

A common sense approach...
This book gives a very easy to understand description of the processes that occur when water is ingested and the effects of hydration and dehydration in the body. I enjoyed this book and will be keeping it around to lend to friends and family.
