This short story collection is extremely well written. The writer's oeuvre is impressive and includes a wide range of subjects. Most of the stories draw on contemporary themes with which a middle class reader can easily identify.While 'Dhoop' and 'Duniya' are fine examples of post modern writing, with 'Silent Killer', the author has brought attention to a serious yet often-ignored problem.However, my favourite story in the collection is 'Sach' where the poignancy of death and possibility of life is described with utmost simplicity and honesty.The imagery and the sounds created by the words transport the reader to a setting where the story is playing out in front of his eyes.Although, the dominant tone of the book is sombre, most of the stories are permeated with a sense of hope. In 'Toofan', despite all the tragedies inflicted by life, Murali, Ganeshi and Meera find a sense of purpose in each other and rebuild their lives.To summarise, this book chronicles the time in which we live in an honest and beautiful way. Highly recommended.

सरिता कुमारी जी का नाम किसी परिचय का मोहताज नहीं है। सर्वप्रथम मेरा उनसे परिचय उनकी कहानी संग्रह “उजालों के रंग “ के माध्यम से हुई। उनकी कहानियों ने मुझे उनका मुरीद बना लिया इसलिए जब “तूफ़ान” के आने की खबर मिली तो मैंने झट से इसे मंगवा लिया। विभिन्न पत्र पत्रिकाओं में उनकी रचनाएँ पढ़ती ही रहती हूँ। सरिता जी की रचनाएँ ज़िंदगी के प्रति नरम और आशावादी रुख रखती हैं और अंत जीवन की ख़ुशनुमा वातायन से सुमधुर सुलझावों से सुवासित कर मन तृप्त कर जाती है ।पुस्तक का आवरण आकर्षक है और भीतर के पृष्ठ उच्च स्तरीय व त्रुटिरहित हैं।जीवन कहानियों के सुनने, सुनाने और रचने की अटूट यात्रा है। पुस्तक को पढ़ते हुए हम विभिन्न स्थान, भाव और परिस्थितियों से गुजरते जाएँगे और सम्मोहित होते रहेंगे। दस छोटी छोटी कहानियों का ये संग्रह कभी अपनी कथ्य से मन मोहेगा तो कभी अपनी समझाइश से समृद् करेगा। अक्सर कहानियाँ मनोवैज्ञानिक स्तर पर भी प्रभावित करती प्रतीत होती हैं।पहली कहानी ‘साइलेंट किलर’ प्रसवोत्तर अवसाद की कहानी कहती है। ये कहानी उन लोगों को अगाह करती है जो अवसाद की इस अवस्था से अपरिचित हैं।‘तस्वीर’ कहानी रुहानी और अलौकिक प्रेम की एक यथार्थवादी दास्ताँ है। मुझे इस तरह की कहानियाँ पढ़ना व लिखना दोनों बेहद पसंद है।कोरोना काल ने मनुष्यता की कई रहस्यमयी परतों को उघाड़ कर रख दिया है, कहीं उदार तो कहीं कटु। एक कठोर शिक्षक की भाँति जीवन के सबक से रुबरू करा हमें विभिन्न अनुभवों से समृद्ध किया है। ‘चलो घर चलें’ उस काल की एक जीवंत दस्तावेज है। हालाँकि शीर्षक से अंत का अंदाज़ा मिलता है पर इस कहानी से शायद हर पाठक खुद को कहीं न कहीं जुड़ा पाएगा।इसी तरह ‘धूप’ कहानी एक समझाइश है जिसमें बदलती जीवनशैली व महानगरीय जीवन के एक कड़वे पक्ष से पाठक रूबरू होता है।सरिता जी आप की पुस्तक ‘तूफ़ान’ मुझे पसंद आई और मैं दूसरों को भी इसे पढ़ने की अनुशंसा करती हूँ।मैंने ये पुस्तक अमेजन से मँगवाई है।

These vivid short stories shows the reflection of our own lives. Sometimes a kind gesture is enough to give someone hope which one yearns for. Beautifully penned: the theme of fear to overcome, loneliness and identify crisis, desire for a desire gives the sublimity to this book. Written in a simple yet powerful diction the stories are woven together to make a harmony.

Life is a journey of emotions and this book captures it beautifully. The stories are contemporary and relatable.. the flow of the words are like river…smooth and pure. Read it, for the sake of its originality and simplicity.
