The mother of all IoT and home automation
If you are really into home automation and consider yourself ambitios or spohisticated, hate making compromises and are looking for a professional solution at an outstanding value, then there is no way past Shelly. Am using their products for many years and projects. Whether that is their wifi switches, IR motion detectors, bulbs or wifi plug switches: Shelly 100% keeps its promise. It integrates with various clouds, IFTTT as well as you can flash Tasmota if you are looking for an open source control ... Ah, for my last project I have put them behind my switches to control my fans and lights. Ideal for scheduling on/off times during monsun to keep the air moving when not home for longer period of time, etc.

Great device, if you can set it up
I bought a few of these to replace light switches at home. The interface of the app is beautifully designed and simple to use.The device itself is small. Small enough to fit in the hole left by the wall switch. Setting it up is not simple though.professional level knowledge is needed.Once I connected and programmed it, my lights come on as sun down and turn off the next morning automatically. It is dependable enough that I don't have to reopen the wall to do any servicing. At least not yet.

Amazing for use with rolling security shutters
So this is one of the coolest products I've ever seen. I wanted to automate my rollashield security shutters and decided to give this device a try. First of all, it's much smaller than it appears in the pics. How they get so much capability into such a tiny package is beyond me. With that said, it is still a pretty tight fit into a single gang box but it will work if you use flexible wiring and have patience. You're dealing with 110 volts so be careful and pay attention to ground wires, etc.The app is a bit of a nightmare initially. You cannot copy and paste passwords from a password manager and that was a real headache, and then it seemed like it took an hour before all of the features populated properly and started working. I would recommend using a laptop for as much of the setup as humanly possible. Once I got it tied into my home network, it did a firmware update, and then it was off to the races.I specifically set the device up for rolling shutters and then all of the settings changed to match that selection. Things got very interesting after that. It ran through a calibration so that it knew the current draw, and how far it had to go to be fully open and fully closed. There must be fifty different customization settings that you can apply, even making it auto reverse if it finds an obstacle, and many others. Once I had everything selected properly within the app, I downloaded the Alexa skill and that worked pretty much flawlessly. The commands are not exactly what you would expect. It operates more like a smart bulb than shutters. The commands open and close do not apply. I can say shutters on and they will open fully or shutters off and they will close completely. You can also say, once calibrated, set the shutters at 60% or whatever and they will move to that position. 100% and 0% can also be used to fully open or close them. All of these can be incorporated into Alexa routines. The app itself also accommodates groups and scenes apart from Alexa.I had bought all of the parts to essentially custom build my own device to do what this thing does and it would have been in a very large box mounted to the wall. This is an infinitely better solution for a really good price.

Impressed by the flexibility and durability of these devices
I have over 50 smart devices, mostly Z-Wave and some Zigbee devices. I decided to try the Shelly2.5, and I was impressed! They are smaller, more reliable and flexible in comparison to Z-Wave counterparts. If installed at a location with decent WIFI signal, they work great. They can be configured for use with the Shelly cloud service, or alternatively can be operated locally over MQTT, without any clouds. The firmware is easily upgradable. Low clicking sounds when flipping switches. Can fit almost anywhere.

I love how compact this switch is and that it supports MQTT
I needed a double switch I could fit into a light and fan fixture. This is about the only one that would fit.I also wanted to switch to using MQTT and it was nice that it supports this without reflashing the the firmware. There have been a couple of times it has "lost its mind" and I have had to reset it to get it working again. But for the most part it has been reliable. So I do recommend this switch.
