Yes. They are very durable and strong. I would recommend putting a pipe over the end and prying it open as to not leave marks on the outside. Hold a lot of weight.

Q: Could I use these hooks to hang curtains?

You can use these hooks on any wire shelving unit or kitchen rails. It is also possible to use these hooks to hang curtains. However, you need to make sure that the curtain rod (preferably flat) holds the small end of the hook firmly. The between space in the small end of the hook measures only 0.30 inches.

Q: Would these work on pegboard?

I don't think they would work. Just not the right shape. Too rounded.
