Be sure to read the bottom to see how I rate products.I have several of these shirts and especially like the ones with the hood. Being in the Seattle area it may be cool enough for a light hood early in the morning but when the sun hits it warms up enough that it isn't necessary so I like the built in hood. It also has great ventilation, which is great because I wear this shirt in the summer time to keep the sun off my arms but this often makes shirts like these too hot since the material is not breathable. The ventilation is well placed as to not sacrifice the sun protection.I like these with a loose fit and ordered an extra large, which is perfect for me. I'm 6' tall, have a 34" waist and weight about 200 pounds.Overall I am very pleased with this shirt and would buy it again or recommend it to a friend.How I rate products:When I give a rating to a product said product automatically starts with four or five stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. I then subtract stars based on certain criteria as listed below.1. If an item is exactly what I expected and nothing more it will receive a four- or five-star rating. The difference between the two is a bit subjective but is also based on the information on the Detail Page, customer service (if necessary), good instruction manual, etc.2. If an item surpasses my expectations, it will definitely receive five-stars and an extra callout3. If an item goes slightly below my expectations, it will lose a star (3 Stars)4. If the instructions for the product (if needed) are poorly written (hard to understand due to language issues or grammar) or just too hard to follow it will lose a star no matter if the product meets or exceed my expectations. I hate poorly written instructions5. If a product is significantly below my expectations, I will deduct two stars6. It will be rare that I would give a product one star since I buy mostly items that have a 4+ rating but in rare instances there may be a good reason that even a four-star product receives a one star rating from me. It could be because of customer service issues from the company but whatever the case is I will clearly explain my reason for giving a product only one starAdditionally, if a product fails over a short time period I will come back and update my review but will also take into consideration how the company’s customer service handles the repair or replacement. I understand that issues sometime arise, even with the best of products and a rating update may not be necessary.

So in love with these shirts. I want to get one in every color. I use sun shirts everyday for walking, running and paddling on the ocean. Since I’m using them for athletics most of the time, some of them can get too hot in the really warm months of Summer. This shirt however is perfect! It looks super cool. I got lots of compliments right away. The mesh on the sleeves and back really makes it breath and allows me to wear it in much higher heat then most of my other similar shirts. The fabric is soft, stretch lycra with soft mesh fabric. It is stretchy and does not bind or chafe even if I’m working out. There is a nice size hood so I can keep the sun off my neck and ears. The drawstring allows me to tighten it up to keep it on my head in the wind. There is a little question about the mesh part and sun protection but I’m willing to work with that (read sunblock application) in turn for the breathability of this garment. I recommend this shirt 100%. I will note that in the description it states the shirt was designed for “Dad Bods” and it is not fitted. This is truth! A size chart was not provided (seller note: this would really help a lot of one could be provided). The waist and chest are indeed boxy to allow for girth. I ordered my actual size- I’m female but usually wear Men’s Large so that’s what I went with and it was quite big. I will be able to wear it more as a lightweight cover up as another layer of clothing will definitely fit underneath it. It’s bigger than my other sized L men’s sun shirts. I would definitely recommend going down a size if you want to be closer to the way your normal shirts for and maybe even two sizes if you want a move fitted look.

I ordered it because of the interesting different look. I was unsure what the material would be like when I ordered it,or if I would like the different material on the back and bottom of the sleeves but I was pleasantly surprised of its comfort and especially pleased at the way it looks. The material in the back and on the bottom of the sleeves is a net like mesh so it breaths very well if you're out in the sun - no sweaty back etc because it allows more airflow. I have not tried it for fishing, but I'm guessing it would work very well over a t-shirt in the morning on the water when it's chilly or at the end of the day. Thus it sort of insulates you when it's cool but also thin and breathable in the sun. It is light and packs in a small space in my pack to keep for when it gets chilly. I tried it on my daily hike/walk and use it exactly as I use my fleece and it helps keep the bugs off too. I like the look too, sort of looks like tie dye lightning with a somewhat amusing logo.I ordered a 3X even though I'm a 2X but I like the extra space. I would order the same size again even when I get back down to my normal weight since I gained a bit after some medical procedures. I would buy your normal size if you want a perfect fit especially if you're very fit knowing it is more flexible than cotton or better yet one size up if you like a more loosely fit comfortable look or you have a beer belly instead of a six pack.
