I totally should have known from the price. you are not going to get Indian sandalwood for 7 or $8. but this smells like cheap incense and the package itself says nothing about sandalwood. it's just not what it says it is.

I waited a few weeks to get this EO delivered, and it was worth waiting for since Hinoki has scientific research on skin rejuvenating properties, relaxation and also stress relief, anxiety, and heart health. Though not all is maybe backed up in the Western world Hinoki wood has been used like Hinoki needle in Japanese traditional bath cosmetics. I never had the opportunity to smell it directly, this is my first time, I can describe it as very earthy, woody, sweetish, and also like mushroom combined. The color is transparent and it feels light on the skin. I will use it for my sleeping room and also combine it with other EO for massage oil. The item came on time, was no leakage however the product had a rancid or sour smell to it. I was introduced to this product form my Dad. He has been using it for years. His has a very potent and pleasant aroma that he wear on his clothing. I was expecting the same result with this purchase after trying it out in different ways. I'm to the opinion that maybe it got contaminated hence the sour smell.

Sorry. Not a fan. Far different scent than the other oil from another company (also hinoki oil). Is it me? Just not liking this one. - but it may appeal for the earthier scent, to some.
