Hendrix: A Second Chance Romance Paperback – December 9, 2021

I finished this story with a little laugh. It was just so cute.Colby and Saige were a great pair. But Brenna, their daughter, really stole the show. That girl is adorable and so funny.All the side characters were great too which definitely helps a story.This is not a spicy read. There is one love scene but it’s not terribly explicit.4.5/5 ⭐️1/5 🌶

I’m not one for second changes, sports romances, or secret babies/kids. Clayton knocked of out of the park… or field? Absolutely phenomenally done real and raw look into the complexities of young love, hopes and dreams, mistakes and rectifying all that as we grow as people. The love Colby and Brenna share is all consuming. From day one, I knew he wouldn’t let that little girl down. My love for the little family grew steadily and persisted throughout. Saige found herself again, found the happiness she deserved and it was portrayed so beautifully and organically. Amazing read!

Tropes: Football Romance, Single Parent, Secret Baby, & Second Chance.Rating: 3⭐️’s for storyline/plot and 1🌶️ for spice!•This is my first book by this author and I honestly bought it on a whim from Amazon for like $10. It was short and sweet and good, just not as good as some of the other books I’ve read this year. And, there was one thing that made me mad, early in the book the author mentions the MCM’s father getting sicker, but the author never mentioned him or his condition ever again😅•Here are some of my favorite quotes:1. Page 135: “I press a kiss on the top of her head, almost afraid to let myself wonder how he managed to break one of the strongest women I know”.2. Page 142: “He loves me. Someone who loves you wouldn’t do this. Take it from someone who knows what it’s like to love you”.

Colby and Saige’s story is perfect. Everything I was hoping for. The growth, the ups and downs, it was all perfection. I loved getting to see Colby’s role change from playboy to having his heart wrapped around a little finger. It was great getting to see this side of him. I also enjoyed Saige and all the struggles she goes through. I feel like she was rational and I understood where she was coming from. Always a plus when you feel like you can understand the character!

5 Stars because I can’t stop smiling! This book gave me ALL THE FEELS and a few happy tears! So much emotion bled from the pages. I LOVED THIS COUPLE and their journey.Our favorite playboy Colby is about to be taken to his knees. He let her get away once, but this time he’ll do anything for a second chance.Saige was the only girl that has ever had his heart. They met in college and fell in love. And when he got drafted to the NFL, he let her go. He thought he needed to concentrate on his career. He had no idea what he was leaving behind.It’s been almost six years, when he sees Saige on tv, he finds out he may have walked away from more than just the girl who had his heart.This is a story that I wanted to be told and I am so happy the author surprised us with it. BEST. GIFT. EVER!!!This second chance romance is totally swoon worthy. The hero will bring the alpha and the sweet and your heart won’t stand a chance.

I'm not sure why I decided to pick up this book other than the fact that it has been forever since my last Kelsey Clayton book and when I read the blurb I was hooked.As a huge fan of second chance this book was everything I wanted it to be. We have funny banter, sexy and swoony moments. I loved that they did not fall into each other's arms right away. The transition from not seeing each other for years to confessing their feelings was perfect. I'm definitely look up more of KC's books because I've been away for waaay to long.

I started this book around 8pm last night, and I didnt go to bed until I finished. KC pulled me in and I just couldn’t stop myself from turning the pages.There is so freaking much going on in this story. It’s a slow burn and you won’t get any sexy stuff until the end. But that is not why you should read this story. It is intense and a lot angsty. I don’t think the characters ever really resolve the past enough (at least for me). But they are able to move on and find love for each other again. I do not begrudge Saige for the choices she made to guard her heart and keep her daughter safe and happy. In her position I probably would have done the same.

I've been wanting Colby's story, but this was a bit of a letdown.It missed the mark for me. It didn't gel enough, the chemistry was disappointing. There was a ton of potential, but it just didn't feel rounded and complete. The full development was missing and I really dislike weak heroines. Saige was not strong, given what she allowed to happen to her with her daughter in the home. I still couldn't stop reading it, but the storyline was just not well executed, and also his relationship with Lennon doesn't hit right, regardless of them just being friends. He had more chemistry with Lennon in one shared look than he ever did with Saige throughout the whole book. After reading Lennon's story and his, I personally feel like Lennon was the one who got away -- that he's always wanted and been in love with Lennon, lost her to Cade, and settled for the baby mama. I feel bad for him.

Okay! So the book is wholesome but my biggest problem is that the female lead is portrayed to be too gullible. Also a bit more grovelling was required from Colby (male lead). What he did was wrong and should not have been brushed off as a mere mistake he made when he was young and surrounded by dreams.

Actually my favorite of your work, so mature and really fun to read. Loved it. Congrats, it can't get better than this

I have enjoyed the various books within the Haven Grace world but Colby is a standout character and I am SO glad his story got told.

Oh Colby, Colby, Colby.. what. a. man 😭😭😭 I loved this book so much!! It was a side book to the series I’ve just read and I just adored it. Colby was one of my absolute favourite characters of the series so him having his own book was amazing 🙌🏼 he’s just so likeable and funny. I loved how he handled the curve ball he was thrown in this book and how mature he was. I loved Saige as a character too, she was so strong and only wanted the best for her daughter. Speaking of, Colby and Brenna together made my ovaries hurt 🥺 loved this book so much! Lovely little ending to this series!

I can’t even come up with the words. Hendrix was everything! Of all the books I have read by Kelsey Clayton this would hands down be my favourite.I fell absolutely head over heels in love with Colby, Saige and Brenna. There were so many ups and downs along the way to happiness for this gorgeous little family, but I was grinning from ear to ear when they finally got their happily ever after.This is one of those books that you will want to sit down and read from start to finish in one go - I barely put it down until the end!
