This underpad saved a baby sheet 3 times in one day!
First of all, this item really works, otherwise I wouldn't be spending time writing this review while being busy raising a newborn baby!I saw chux being used at a hospital and decided to use one at home as well after coming home with a newborn baby. The chux I received from the hospital did feel nice and was fluffy, so, I spent a lot of time looking for a similar item. Some had good reviews, others didn't, some were reasonably priced, others seem a bit expensive for daily use. I chose this NorthShore item based on relatively good reviews. I couldn't decide between "economy" and "premium" for a while, but, after checking the weight of the hospital chux myself, which was 6oz, I decided to try economy first. I'm happy to know that economy is just fine! This chux feels smooth and soft. It is not thick or fluffy, but, it does the job! It is actually good that it is not thick, so that it can be placed over a sheet or a towel and it won't be too fluffy. Also, I noticed from trying a few different types of chux from the hospital that a thick or fluffy chux tend to crumble after a day or so from being rubbed. My baby had a few accidents during diaper change. All the liquid was caught inside this NorthShore underpads and the sheet underneath was fine! I had a few times of failure with the hospital chux when it comes to absorbing liquid, so, I was very pleasantly surprised! I highly recommend people reading this review to give this product a try. I will be buying again once my supply runs out.

These pads are great for changing babies and have so many uses.
I always keep one of these pads on my babies changing table. It makes it so easy to clean up after a messy diaper change - no need to be continuously washing the changing pad cover! Also GREAT for travel! I keep a few in the car, I bring them on trips to the grandparents house, vacations, etc. We even use them on the changing stations in public restrooms at the mall, restaurants and even Disney. It's nice to know that you're putting your child on a covered surface to change them. Then you just pick up the pad after and toss in the trash! Recently, I even started using them on car rides in my older sons car seat in case he has a potty training accident. Overall, these are great and have so many uses and the size is perfect.

Time (not to mention energy) saving underpads
We use this for our baby during diaper change and needless to say she has had quite a few blowouts so far.. these really save our time (and energy) washing the fitted sheet cuz she has been having those episodes in the mornings. We gotta wash her dirty clothes anyway.. why add in the work of washing more stuff? I have the washable cloth liners too but nothing like these disposable pads. When I go out to use a public changing table I happily throw this one out along with the diaper which I can't do with a washable/wipe-able liner. Also my LO is becoming too big for the smallest size by 3 months, so I'll just order the next size I think. The cloth liners don't grow with her like that.. I doubt we'd stop buying it until she begins to crawl.

Sorely disappointed
I am very disappointed at these disposable pads. For the average review that they had and their description, I expected much better. My son had surgery on a pilonidal cyst, so we have been using pads under him and under a bed sheet on the sofa as a precaution. These pads are not absorbent at all. He has leaked through two pads onto the sofa more than once. I have purchased others from a pharmacy, and they were wonderful. I think a paper towel would be more absorbent than these.

Changed my rating to 3 Stars
I purchased the Premium Underpads when my cat became ill and had difficulty eating. He would not stand on a placemat or rubber base to protect my floors from spilled food. Well, I recently bought NorthShore's Economy pad thinking 'Economy' meant a savings in the quantity I would receive but I was wrong. The underpad is very flimsy and recently when kitty spilled water on it, the underside, which is lined with a thin plastic, was soaked all the way through. I cannot imagine the Economy pads being used for human 'spills.' I'm switching back to the Premium pad.
