I bought mine to offer iced water to guests which my friend thought was silly but it really holds the water and ice well - she is now the biggest user of the pot by the way. I could have used one which said cold water on it but they were not available. The pot is functional, value for money and a nice design. The pump action is easier to use than traditional models and the handle tucks away when not in use or in transit.

Very happy with this product. Kept hot chocolate warm for hours in the middle of winter and holds a good volume, filled about 14 takeaway coffee cups.

This has a 5 litre capacity and double layer insulation. The Science says air is a poor conductor so FILL with boiled water immediately from the kettle and then stopper straight away. Boil the second kettle and then do the same. Fill to the stopper. This improves the heat longevity. Also maybe prep the flask with boiled water to kick-start the ambient temp, then empty, then fill as quickly as below.All the above applies whatever the capacity and the real requirement would be around what capacity you need for the number of people in your household. This one possibly for a 3 household at home all day. Anything left over, perhaps use to wash up with. The pump is simple but workable, just don't stab at the mechanism and use long, slow measured draughts respecting the plastic parts. These things are built to budget so accept that and it'll last.Finally this model will be too unwieldy for seniors unless carers can fill for them. For the rest of us this could be a convenient and energy bill saver.

Great product

Now I admit that I've only had this airpot for 24 hours. But in that time I've been both impressed by it's design, but disappointed by it's performance. I only wanted to use this to keep boiling water at a temperature suitable for making hot drinks over a day. The specification says it keeps hot for up to 8 hours, and cold for up to 24 hours. The key words, after trying the air pot, is "up to".The design of the pot is superb, with a very clever mechanism for filling, sealing and pumping the liquid content. But after filling, I became concerned after only a short while as the outer casing became warm to the touch - which can only mean that it is leaking heat. I don't know what the insulation is - it is described as a Full Steel Vacuum Chamber - but I did not expect this. Even an expanded polystyrene lined chamber wouldn't allow this amount of heat leakage, and a vacuum chamber should have even better insulation performance. And sure enough, it doesn't retain heat for anywhere near the time claimed; after just 5 hours the water had become tepid.A great design, but I will reluctantly be returning my item for the very simple reason is that it is useless at actually doing what it is supposed to do.

It worked and kept water hot for about 24 hours when I first bought it during winter time. But after about 6 months its started to keep the water hot for only 5 hours or so during the summer months. So ok-ish but now not so good, although I still use it, I just keep topping it up with hot water every 4-5 hours. I would say its not really worth the money if its gonna fail in 6 months. But it is still handy to use.
