Exactly what you'd expect
These are great straps for tying/securing just about anything. It's exactly what as described. I use these straps for tying things into my kayak, or attaching them to my kayak, or holding things down. They work great for strapping things to the roof of your truck or car.

These are the good ones
In the whitewater boating industry these are the standard for tie-down straps. There are other brands, some better, some worse, but these get the job done every time. The better ones have a more complex buckle that allows a somewhat easier tension pull, but these won't disappoint, and the price is good. The metal buckle won't rust, and the strap fabric is super-tough. Hint: estimate the number of straps you will need for your purpose, then double or triple that. If you enjoy any outdoor activities, these straps will make your life easier by bundling gear, creating grab points for unwieldy objects, and cinching down all manner of stuff. Get these instead of the tie-down cinch straps with the hooks on either end, these are more versatile and there is no paint to chip off or hooks to rust. You folks on the coast or snow states might want to put a tiny drop of oil on the buckle lever bearings to prevent salt corrosion from freezing the thing up, and eventually you will need to scissor off the frayed strap end and re-melt the fabric with a flame to make it easy to insert into the buckle. If you drive 80 mph for a thousand miles like we do out west, the flapping straps on your roof rack may need some attention after a couple of years. These will hold up better than the cheapos. My only warning is that your friends will "accidentally" make off with some straps--that's why you need more than you think....

Cheap Knockoffs
These are cheap knockoffs. Real NRS straps are sold in pairs and each strap has an NRS tag sewn on with the breaking strength. Blue strap on right is authentic.

Very sturdy
Nothing beats NRS straps. These are soooooo much better than ratchet straps. Especially if you need a cinch around anything that's 2ft or less. Super easy to figure out, secure, and release. The first day I used them to latch down ladders on top of my truck, I drove on the freeway about 50 miles and the wind was gusting 40 to 50mph. Didn't have any issue at all.
