Great bag, carries all the essentials with style. Highly durable canvas exterior and solidly-attached shoulder strap, "takes a lickin' and keeps on ticking." PLUS: waxed canvas exterior repels rain; and I immediately know what's in there--I'm not losing stuff in bottom of a backpack for a week ("so that's where that apple went..."). Could use: stiffener behind snaps on bag, because I usually have it so overloaded that they fold under whatever is in the pockets; maybe some pen loops, etc, on the inside for holding smaller items (but does have two flat pockets along back for thin items). But I'm satisfied with it, and convinced you could throw it from a moving freight train, and everything inside would be fine. Great job!!

I bought this bag because I wanted a smaller, light option for when I only need to carry a few items - maybe a book or two, my kindle 10, etc. I have even used it to carry a small laptop and it works well for that. I like that the main compartment has a zipper so that the contents can't slide out. The shoulder strap is long enough that I can carry it comfortably. It does appear sturdy and durable, but time will tell. So, it works well for my purposes.The downside is that it does not have a handle on top - this makes it awkward to remove from my shoulder or pick it up from a chair or table. You can use the strap on the back (I'm not sure if it is intended for that purpose or if it is for hanging the bag on a rolling suitcase handle), but that is still a bit awkward. The other weakness is that there is not an external pocket that you can easily slide some papers or a magazine into - you need to open up the entire bag to get to the main compartment.Nevertheless, after a week I am satisfied with the overall design and appearance of the bag.

Original review is below:I like this bag. I love the color and build, and its unassuming design. The materials themselves seem very durable.However, after a few weeks I started to see loose stitching along the bottom of one end of the satchel. Over a couple weeks the loose stitching has spread across that area, so now I'll be taking it in to a shoe-repair shop.One other note, which requires some explanation. Each leather strap is actually made of two straps: one connected to the bag flap, and a smaller strap that contains half of a magnet fastener. The second, smaller strap is attached to the first with a buckle. One day I picked up my bag and realized that one of the small magnet straps had become unbuckled from its main strap and fallen off. It was lost. Fortunately, I realized that it had fallen off in a restaurant I had recently visited, and when I went back they told me they had found the magnet strap and were able to return it to me. Bullet dodged, but a more secure buckle between the pieces of leather would make me feel better about carrying this bag around.

I needed a bag to take my work clothes back and forth while biking. Great purchase! I mainly purchased it because it was one of few messenger bags that fully zipped in the middle. Also reviews of waterproof were spot on and I’m thoroughly impressed! I was caught in an unexpected flash downpour which often happens here being so humid, all inside was completely dry although outside of bag was soaked. I roll my items as would do for luggage and works like a charm even given my 20 minute commute. I especially like very much the divider/two compartments inside. Was very helpful to put my still wet clothes in the one side and my items not to get wet on the other when leaving work. Great purchase!

Any look at my purchase history will show I love bags. This canvas messenger bag is a basic - or rather, a staple. That's because everyone should have a durable, well-designed bag that looks great, goes with everything, and is functional. I guess you could call this the 'little black dress' of bags. Haha. I'm a guy and don't have a little black dress, but I'm pretty sure that's a great analogy.I digress. This bag is canvas as advertised. It's strong and durable. The leather straps add a great look, but also work. They clasp snugly and there is also a zipper for the main compartment. A lot of similar messenger bags do not have a zipper and that leaves you open to accidental spillage. Or in my case, imminent spillage. But not with this bag. I will confidentaly carry my MacBook Pro 15" in this. There are some smaller pockets, but not so many that they just become redundant. The strap is adjustable. The black color is an actual black and doesn't look "washed" or faded.Very happy with this purchase and will be looking in to the other bags made by this company.

Better quality than I expected for the price. The zipper and handles are thick and seem well-constructed, but time will tell. Fits my 13” MacBook Air and plenty more. If you put too much in it, the magnetic snaps won’t reach to close. I wish the buckles were functional to add extra reach to the magnets. The black canvas is a little shiny and the zipper sticks out about 2” past the shoulder strap when closed. Overall a decent bag, doesn’t look cheap and isn’t oversized on my 5’5” female frame. I looked at a lot of similar bags on Amazon and am pleased that I went with this one. It took over a week to ship but was only coming from Connecticut.
