First off, the the overall length of the boot/foot was just the right length. I am a size 7 and I ordered a size 7. The problem I had, as with most shoes, is that the boot is narrow. I did not dock any stars for this because I do have wide feet. The first few times I wore the boots, they were a tad uncomfortable because I have slightly wide feet. But, I have worn them with thick socks to break them in. After a few wears, I can wear these with nylons and the fit is perfect.Second, I love the style. I kinda think the long laces add a funkiness to the boots -- the kind I was looking for. Every time I wear these I get compliments on them, from men and women.Third, of all the boots I have had, these have been my favorites.If you are looking for boots, be honest with yourself. Do you have slightly larger, wider feet? You may want to order a size or two up, because these boots are made for small-footed women. Do NOT try to stuff your foot into ANYTHING to make it look smaller. Be honest about your dimensions. You might consider going to a shoe seller that actually measures feet with those metal foot-measure things, then order one or two sizes up. If you cannot tolerate heels well, do not order these boots. I can wear heels just fine, but many women cannot. These are somewhat high heels. If you are not used to that, please do not attempt it with these boots -- you may hate yourself later.If you are honest about your dimensions, and what you can handle, and you think you can handle the narrow, high heeled aspects of this boot, then they are perfect for you. Likely, as I am, you are a tad bit masochistic and like a little pain.Frankly, I love them. They are gorgeous. They are me. They are dark. They are lovely.
