After 20 years of refusing to wear a watch, (mechanic and would catch on engine, etc), I found this and he gave in and said ok.It is PERFECT. He wears his cargo shorts, throws it in the lowest pocket, and it doesn't interfere or bother him, even when laying on ground working on cars. It is built tough, which is a huge plus, and keeps time no matter how much he moves around under cars. So it's a WIN WIN.

This Dakota MiniClip watch is the perfect solution to those times when wearing a wristwatch isn't practical or desirable. I found the size to be perfect, yet adequate for my aging fifty-something eyes. It's surprisingly heavy, given its size, but not to the point of being a distraction.I've used this watch twice a week for the past 8 weeks and it appears to be holding up quite well. The clip remains strong with no weakening of the spring. The bezel still looks great, with only a couple of minor scratches from normal use. I'm a bit picky about how things look and this watch still looks as great today as the day I unpacked it from it's nifty box.The red LED light is a novelty, but not particularly useful. It's a "nice to have" feature that might prove its value some day. I simply haven't found a reason to use it, yet.Overall, the Dakota MiniClip watch will not disappoint those who are looking for an inexpensive alternative to the traditional wristwatch. Looks great and works as described. A solid performer for the money.

This design is used for corporate gifts. My original version from IBM had their logo in the oval area which has Dakota on the one that I am rating. I was glad to find this Dakota version as my experience with my original has been very good. If it lasts as long as my original, it is well worth the price. I decided it was time for a new one when after many years of daily use, the second hand finally fell off my original. So far this new Dakota is working out fine. It keeps good time and is easy to read.With a watch that clips to your side belt loop it is easy to scratch the crystal. Also, the red LED clear plastic bubble lens can break as a result of normal wear and tear over time. If this happens, the LED should continue to operate, but you may need to dress the remaining plastic portion with a file or sand paper should there be any sharp plastic edges on the LED.Concerning the crystal, if you want to keep it from getting scratched, I have found that if you put a screen plastic protector film over it, it will last forever. Use a circle template that matches the exposed diameter of the crystal and draw a circle with a fine permanent marker on the film and cut out the circle with scissors. Try to find a screen protector film that is not too stiff so that it will flex over the slightly convex surface of the crystal. Over time the screen protector will get scratched and dull looking. Just peel and replace with a new one and the watch will look brand new. The plastic film used to cover the front end of cars works well for this. Also, if you want to preserve the watch cover plate on the back of the watch, you can apply screen protector film on that as well. (Note: The watch comes with a larger diameter plastic film cover, but this film does not stick well, so if you want to protect the crystal you will have to make your own as described above.)

It’s a great watch. Just be careful of the glass on the dial. I just shattered my last one.

quick delivery and an excellent product

Really useful for walking and cycling, but unfortunately it stopped working after 4 months. There does not appear to be any customer support in the UK, so in practice no warranty . Also, there is no advice about replace the battery yourself and again no service offered in the UK. Shouldn't really be sold under these conditions.

I bought this to attach to my waistpouch and to my rucksack for the the Via Francigena hike from Canterbury to Rome. Within a few weeks of starting the minute and second hands came loose. As you can see from the photos there are no scratches as the watch was never dropped or impacted. The hands simply came loose from the rhythm of walking. A shame as I had high hopes.

Great watch for work looks cool and is well made.I like the bash guard over the watch face however it does obscure the the numbers, better than cracking the glass though.
