tech21 Evo Check Case for Galaxy S8 - Clear/White

I have been a long time Tech 21 case customer, for several of my previous smartphones. This is absolutely the BEST case for your S8. Not slippery, doesn't attract lint, color remains true, no finger prints, comfortable in the hand, flattering, doesn't mess with the screen protectors, great coverage for front, corners and back. I have had one major drop with my S8, from about 6 ft up and it was a hard face down fall onto the grocery store parking lot. I gasped and cringed as I picked it up (bracing for the worst) though miraculously, it came up untouched. The BEST protection. The fit is snug (honestly not as bad as some describe, can still maneuver off/on) which actually keeps your phone very secure & side buttons can be stiff but will work a bit easier in time (as was the case with a previous color I had gotten) . Shock absorbing in all the right places, and after trying every other case under the sun for this phone (I am very particular) .... I still came out with this case #1.

I have several cases for my S8 Plus but this one by Tech 21 quickly became one of my favorites. At a $6.00 price tag I was skeptical about this being a genuine item but those fears were put to rest as soon as I opened the packaging. My purchase matched the unboxings I'd viewed on YouTube and the look and feel of the case spoke to a quality far beyond the price I paid. Speaking of feel, installing this case added grip and texture without much bulk. The white borders of the case make locating my phone in a dark room much easier as well. That was an unanticipated bonus and one of the reasons my UAG Metropolis case has taken a backseat to this one when I am lounging around the house.I can't speak to how this case holds up to drops as I am very careful with my phone and have never dropped it with this case on, however that is partially a testament to the grip the case adds. I deducted one star because despite the drop rating listed on the box I wouldn't feel comfortable dropping my all glass phone on a hard surface with this case as it's only protection. When I am going outside I slap on my UAG or Supcase. Overall though, I am more than pleased with this purchase.

This case is nice, however the extra protection on the sides makes the volume and lock buttons very hard to press. Its almost to the point where I do not even want to use the case due to the extreme effort I have to put into pressing the buttons. Aside form that the case looks nice and fits like a glove. Shipped quickly and was nicely packaged.

I was sold after watching a drop test video of this. Which is amazing considering how slim this case is. It's not fully rubberized but it feels safe in your hands, you wont drop it using one hand. The buttons on mine are hard to use. You will never accidentally hit the power button without actually wanting to press it. I personally only use the power button to shut off my device. I always hard press my home button to open the phone so I barely ever have to use the power button. Same goes with the other buttons. I have no accidentally hit any of the side buttons no matter which way I hold this phone. This case fits without any problems on the 4+ different screen protectors I have used so far. Good case, I bought 3xS8 and 1xS8plus cases from tech 21 now and couldnt be happier. The colors they have are the best I have seen. The pink is a perfect pink, not tinted wierd once it's on your phone like other cases. Same with the turquoise and black. If I ever need a case for any phone, tech21 will be where I head to. Great product.

The case fits nice protects decently and feels well made BUTthe case started yellowing almost immediately and has gotten darker really quickI do work on cars so sometimes when I handle my phone my hands aren't the cleanest but I've had other clear cases last much much longer than this before starting to discolor. The case still works just fine obviously but it's kinda dissapointing it yellows so quickly and the white makes it super noticeableYour mileage may very since I am hard on it but I bet it will yellow for everyone eventually

Recently reverted back to an S8, and had no screen protectors left for it. I read about many different protector types and reviews on Amazon, and this only had 4 reviews, and they were decent. I wasn't sold, until I watched the install video before even buying. I was impressed with the method of installation. I don't do tempered glass, and I prefer TPU with a dry install method like these.I can confirm, there are indeed, 3 of everything in this package. There are only two unopened protectors out, as one is already on the phone, on the right. I apologize for the crappy photo, but my main camera is in this picture. The protector is already on the phone, and the installation is 99.5% great. For an OCD screen protector dude like me, as long as the edges don't lift up with the Tech21 Case I have for it (also brand new off Amazon, even in 2019) I'm gonna be happy with this. It looks almost completely invisible on phone.I WILL update this review in the future, if anything changes or gets bad. That's the reason for 4 stars on durability and sturdiness; I can't in good faith give it 5 until it's had a few months in my pocket. Initial quality and durability look great, but we need to see how it holds up.5 stars for now. I believe it'll hold together. Do what I did, if you happen to be needed S8 protectors, and get these older version LK screen protectors. I read reviews on the newer version of it, and was like NO.

Buttons are a little stiff, but it looks nice and is what I expected.I dropped my S8 off of a 7th story balcony onto grass last night and the phone was fine.80 foot drop test onto grass = pass

A great concept BUT the small plastic hinge son the back body of the cover that allows the front flap to stay in place breaks too easily making the product pretty much useless as the front cover serves as the additional protection for the phone. It is supposed to be able to protect the phone from a high drop yet the hinge breaks even from a light tap and as such it devalues the product for me. I purchased 2 of these thinking that the first time was due to my handling of the product but the 2nd cover snapped off easily and I can see now that this is a significant flaw. Once the hinge has been snapped off you cannot install the small plastic strip that you use in place of the front cover and you end up with a horrible gap on the back cover where the strip of plastic should be which feels terrible to hold in the hand. The price is too high for a product that won't last very long for light use. If this issue had been resolved then I would have given the product a 5 star review. I now need to look for another product to provide similar but more robust protection.

I've had to update this review as this has to be one of the poorest designed phone case by a reputable company.As per the reference by other customers, once you would like to remove the front flap and place in the accompanying piece for the back, you have to be super careful to not break the notches because as soon as the notches, (which are extremely weak) snap off then the whole phone case becomes unusable.I am led to believe that Tech21 have recognized this and updated the Evo wallet according.However I am now left with an unusable phone cover.Please see pictures which show the lack of notches. My recommendation would be not to buy and look elsewhere.

Had this cover for my S6, and it saved it from damage every single time I dropped it. So, when I upgraded to an S8 there was no other case I would trust. Especially as the S8 is as slippery as a baby in bathwater! I was concerned about how the case would work with the S8's 'edge' screen, but I needn't have worried. It looks great, and doesn't affect the functionality, in fact I feel it improves the access to the volume and on/off buttons.There are some improvements from the last generation case. More colour options, and it's thinner.So if you want to use your phone, and not treat it like a newborn baby, for fear of dropping it, then this case is for you!

I have always used Tech 21 products and have not had an issue, I have been a loyal customer. This S8 case however has now changed this. The case front which is attached by 2 small lugs on the rear will break. My phone and case have NEVER been dropped, however the front decided to come away from the body and is now unusable. I contacted Tech 21 and to say i was given the run around is an understatement. Support (or lack of) is where they fall down. I submitted a warranty claim and by the time they had worn me down it was then outside of the warranty period. I was told that unless purchased directly from them or Amazon then no warranty will be given! Well that’s awkward, I had purchased it from amazon and sent them the proof of purchase/ invoice. How long did it take them to reply..... well they still haven't and that was 3 months ago. They are very good at sending out a "How did we do" survey but not to replying to emails or helping you out, I received 6 of these and replied to the negative on each. All in all I am now disappointed with their lack of help and their underhand way of wriggling out of their responsibilities. So in summary, buy another brand. If you buy a Tech 21, they aren't cheap, but if they break you wont get any help. Better to buy cheap and if it breaks then not much money has been wasted.

Awful cheap nasty case very cheeply made. So decided to sell mine of on ebay. Tech 21 pay people to troll ebay incase someone uses one of there precious images in a listing. They reported me for using one of their stock pictures and had my account listing removed on a £4.25 case and my account almost suspended. The irony is I couldn't even give the case away let alone sell it, It ended up in the bin. Will never ever buy a tech21 product ever again. Surely if you own a company you create pictures to sell your products. Then some genius decided to hire people to search the Internet in case they are selling them using the pictures you created to sell them? Sounds a bit crazy don't it. Also the picture in question is of a clear case on a white background not exactly the Mona Lisa, there was no copyright logo and if anyone took a picture of the case themselves would look identical. Also the irony of it is they are using the Samsung logo in every picture I wonder if they pay Samsung to use there logo? Cheap product nasty company
