Amy Bento Ross - Stepletic: 2 Step Athletic Workouts

This needs improvement
I bought this and Kathy Smith's workout to do at home. And the workouts represent two extremes: Kathy Smith's is super basic and boring, and this one moves so quickly and without adequate calling/warning, that I needed to watch it multiple times to get the sequences/moves down. For this dvd....-- Her calling is atrocious. This is a fast moving workout that requires an instructor to call correctly and on-time. She doesn't do that at all. All of a sudden you are jumping into a move that takes you across the step, and she calls it WHILE she is doing the brand new move.-- They don't keep in time with the music. The routines are frequently off beat, so it is hard to remember stuff, especially when you aren't actually facing them.-- They don't build the routines well. If they slowed down just a tad to build up into the routine, it would be a great deal easier for the stepper to catch on and remember the moves, again, when the stepper isn't even facing them. The routines would still be interesting to follow and a good workout if there was an actual build up.I am all for learning a new routine and taking time learning it, but this workout expects a ridiculous time to learn. I shouldn't have to watch the dvd multiple times before just eking my way through the very first portion of the workout, and still being off a ton of moves.

Tough but super fun chorography!!!!!
Amy never EVER disappoints. She's for the advanced types that love complex chorography though. Even the first program on the disc is crazy complex. But I mean that in a good way!!!! It takes practice but man is it ever amazing once you pick it up. SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Love it!
Bento Ross creates some of my favorite step routines. Like her others, these two have challenging choreography to learn and they take a few times through to get down (especially the second workout), but that complexity is what gives them staying power. You can do them over and over through the years. These two routines will get your heart rate up. Lots of quick movements and jumping. It's possible to do both workouts together, but that would be pretty intense stepping for over seventy minutes, not counting the warm-up and cool down. An ab section would have been nice, but I love having premix options to change things up a bit. Highly recommend to moderate or advanced steppers.

Well, I don’t love it yet.
Agree with another reviewer. There is inadequate cueing and prompting, and it is clear the steppers in the video had lots of practice before taping. It’s challenging for sure, but good instructors break down steps in advance so the user can follow along. The intro should have included a breakdown of her more unique and challenging steps, so once into the workout it would be easy to recognize. Great video for those who know her previous videos.... not so good for those unfamiliar. Hopefully this will grow on me.

Her "calling" is terrible.
This looks like a fun video except her calling is horrible. I am really adept at choreography but it is not possible to do without someone telling you what is coming. For that reason only I am returning this video.

Another great one by Amy. I have yet to get all the way through it as it does get pretty intense.

Difficult to follow
This is advanced, and extremely difficult to follow. There is no lead in or notice for upcoming moves. I would not recommend.
