Fab Fours 05-15 TACOMA REAR BASE BUMPER, Black (TT05-Y1351-1)

Bought this after I backed my other half's 08 Tacoma into a tree. Put a good crinkle in the factory bumper at a very low speed, almost a crawl. The local body shop wanted to scam us out of a bumper, so we decided to do it ourselves. We are pretty familiar with working on vehicles as we've had a few project trucks. Huge 175 pound freight box arrived and the excitement began. We were prepared for the regular frustrations of vehicle repair...smashed fingers, breaking bolts, running to the store for different hardware, etc...Installation was way easier than anticipated. Minimal sledge hammer usage. Everything lined up well. Adequate hardware. Not sure if the factory hitch on the 08 changed, but the bolts that go up into the bumper under the license plate are akward to get tightened. Difficult to get an open ended wrench to the nut. All in all, very impressed on how easily everything came together, no extra parts needed at the last minute, and nothing broke. Wish all of our projects went this well. Looks good on the truck. Big and burly, but fits flush and tight. Excited to be on the winning end of the next tree that decides to get in the way! 😉

Great purchase! Bumper looks good on the truck, and it adds a tough look on the back. I had backed into a cement pole, and the pole had gotten a chip from the contact but the bumper was perfectly fine. Not even paint scratch or a mark. You will need a other set of hands to install it. The instructions were clear to understand and it was basically simple to do. The only thing that took some time was to even the bumper on the truck.

The bumper arrived by freight on a pallet, packaged in a cloth sleeve and set on top of a foam pad inside a cardboard box. There was a seperate smaller box with the mounting hardware and instructions inside the larger package.INSTALATIONI followed the instructions to remove the 6 bolts holding th stock bumper in place and removed the stock license plate lights from the stock bumpers mounting holes. Then I removed it by myself. It's stuck on so tightly that I would recommend getting some help from a friend to pull the stock bumper off, otherwise I could see how it might be easy to chip the truck's paint.Once the new bumper was unwrapped, I layed down the foam pad behind my tacoma and set the bumper on it. The bumper has numerous holes in it that would be used to mount the tire carrier. I am not using the tire carrier so I used a rubber mallet to tap in the plastic plugs into each hole. Then I mounted the stock license plate lights.For the next step I asked a freind for help. Together we slid the bumper between the truck's mounting brackets and I climbed underneath while my friend held the bumper in place and pushed the bolts through the holes. Once they were all in I went back and put the nuts on and tightend them. Finally I plugged in the license plate illumination lights. It took me roughly 2 hours to do the whole thing but I was going slow.QUALITYThe finish on the bumper is black powder coat and arrived in mint condition. I measured the steels thickness with a caliper and it is a little more than 0.2" but not quite a quarter inch. The bumper wraps around the back end nicely covering everything the stock bumper did. The d-ring mounts are 3/4 thick and the diameter of the hole is about 1.2". I tried a 3/4 d-ring but it fit far to loosely and so I upgraded and got 7/8 d-rings instead, which fit very nicely.In summary this is a well made bumper and anyone that rear ends me will be very sorry.

Installed this on a 2007 Tacoma very well made and heavy duty. Make sure you have the right equipment or at least 3 people to help mount it. It's not that complicated to install its just heavy and bulky. Looks great. I will post pictures as soon as I get a chance.

Replaced my 2006 Tacoma SR5 bumper and this one looks great!! Super heavy and bigger looking than the original.I have a 4 cylinder and I could feel the difference, slightly harder to stop and accelerate but overall satisfied with how cool it looks.

Great bumper. Easy to install. Also the steel design feels heavy duty. If another car bumps into my truck I’m pretty sure it’s going to cause some damage to their front end

Awesome construction. Easy to install, only about 2 hours with beer breaks. Would buy again. Keep in mind it needs the factory oem Toyota hitch.

This bumper arrived faster than I expected and was in perfect condition and even though it was a very tight fit, that was expected, once installed, there is nothing negative to report. The fact that this bumper works with the factory hitch and the good looks are what sold me on it.
