Simple device, but effective
With a family member at early stage dementia, forgetting to turn off the water after filling the lavatory basin, we had a mess to deal with. These gadgets proved themselves 3 weeks after placing them ( we used 2 for redundancy) when it happened again. The devices respond when the water level under them exceeds about 1/16" to 3/32" depth. If, by unfortunate experience you discover the floor is not perfectly level, you place it (them) in the low spots, just make sure they're out of the way and won't be stepped on.

Not Sensitive Enough, But You Can Fix That Problem Easily
Pros: Small and unobtrusive, loud alarm, easy to use, and inexpensive, so it is not too costly to put one everywhere that water might leak. Cons: The unit as it comes out of the box is not sensitive enough. The feet are fairly tall, so you would need to get quite a bit of water leakage before the water would be high enough to activate the sensor. I want to catch leaks very early, so this was not enough for me.My sense from reading reviews of various types of leak detectors was that this was a common problem. Others have addressed it by putting a paper towel under the unit, so water would soak into the towel and contact the sensor on the bottom of the unit sooner. It seemed messy to me to have a paper towel lying under the unit, though, so I cut a paper towel up, folded it into squares, and rubber-banded the squares to the bottom of the units (see photo). They sounded the alarm with a much smaller amount of water after this fix.I only gave this item four stars since think it should be designs so that such fixes aren't necessary. This seems to be a common problem among leak detectors, though, so I don't think it should discourage you from buying this product.

Doggie accident detectors
We purchased these to help us catch the dogs having accidents in the house as a way to house train them. For the puddle the pooches made, the sensors were slightly too high (~1 mm) to detect the puddle. After filing down the plastic feet a little bit, they are working exactly as designed. The only downside is that the dogs seem to avoid them as they’ve figured out that the high decibel alarm means that they are in trouble. It’s a work in progress, but it is improving.

a piece of mind
The media could not be loaded. I have couple of faulty water valves under my bathroom sink and was looking for something to will alert us when there is a leak; I understand the design of the product; as there ware 2 connector that will use water to complete the circuit the sound the alert. Was still a little uncertain how it will actually work and unsure how loud the siren was; so i decide to do an at home test by placing the siren in a pan and start pouring water into to see if it will trigger the alert. sure enough the device is working as expected; as you can see in the video the decibel of the siren is quite loud and it can be heard across the room. I will be placing one under each of my bath room sink and kitchen sink; but I do believe its best if its in a pan or some sort to better catch the water leaks.

Tested and works
It's raining crazy in Texas so I got a dehumidifier for my walk in closet. The problem is the pip it came with is not long enough to reach the sink so I have to empty the water tank once it filled up. It will stop automatically on its own, but placing on the second carpeted floor, hidden in the closet, I worry about it. So I got these water leak alarm as a safe guard. They came in set of 3, the batteries are already in there, to make sure it works, I poured water on it and the alarm went on and on and very loud. I switched off and back on an hour later, its sound still goes strong, I guess I had to wait it to be completely dried before turning it on again. Its a small investment to make to prevent big damage.

They work!
Good to have by your water heater, on the floor under any old pipes, and under sinks in bathrooms you aren't in each day. They give me some peace of mind.

Sensors stopped working
I bought the sensors 5 years ago, and I just bought battery replacements for them, and none of the sensors are working anymore. I'm not sure what happened. I've opened it up to take a look and maybe the switch got rusted from bathroom humidity? Any recommendations to fix?

I was lucky....
I heard my friend's story about leaking under kitchen sink. It was water dripping from pipe only a drop at a time. But it became a big damage. I thought since my house are old already, instead of keeping check pipes often, I might as well buy detectors to check for me. So, I spent time back and forth compared and decided to get this product. Mainly, the sized is small and price is reasonable. I received package but didn't open until 2 days ago. I put underneath Kitchen sink and bath vanities. Several hours later, I heard loud beeps from one of the bathrooms. I found there is a little water under vanity. The water came from elbow of pipes.I was lucky that I found out the problem at the beginning. Love the products and will recommend it to my family and friends.

It's not like the alarm sounded either
I was looking for a compact leak detector and this seems to fit the bill. It is quite small and simple to use. No wires to trip over or sensor fiddle around with. I also needed a loud one as I have this tucked away in the basement. Let me tell you, this is loud! It'll catch your attention for sure. The only reason why I'm not giving this 5 stars is because there's no way for me to visually check to see if it's still working or not. I'd rather be able to spot a slow blinking LED than to pick it up and throw it in water. I actually have an existing leak detector which I got fed up with. I had to change 2 AA batteries every other month. It's not like the alarm sounded either. It does however had 2 blinking LEDs to show when it was working and when the batteries required replacing. Maybe that's why it required battery replacement so frequently?! This one with 3 LR44s should be cheaper to swap out. You can buy 10 or even 100 cells off of aliexpress or ebay for cheap. I was wary about getting any with a 9v cell as those tend to be the most expensive to replace. LR44s work for me and if it's only once a year, I can manage that.

Product description is not accurate
In the description it says "double-sided adhesive foam tape pad included and built-in suction cup for easy attachment to an appliance". The units I've recieved don't have suction cups or adhesive tape just 3 . small feet underneath where the water sensor is located.I'll start off with the good ... they're easy to set up. Press the on button and that's it.Now the bad:Being that they are supposed to detect water, I would have expected them to be waterproof. However, it doesn't appear as if they are. The sound of the speaker goes down dramatically if it comes into contact with water.Only time will tell if they actually work during a water leak as I'm quite dubious about them. I've placed a paper towl underneath them as the 3 feet lift up the units a few milimetres off the ground.

they work
They certainly worked before I buried them away behind the bath...I tested them before putting them behind the bath panel and they were working then. I haven't had a peep from them for a few months though and I'm assuming that's just because we haven't had any leaks.

Works OK but sound volume low
I bought three for several locations around the house. Tested first and all worked. Recently, a liquid laundry soap container broke and didn't notice it until the detector's beep went off...surprised, pleasantly, that it worked with liquid soap! Prevented a real mess. The only reason that I'm giving this a three star is that the sound volume when activated is low, too low almost to be heard clearly. Should be more like a smoke detector in volume.

Great product
Does exactly as it says and after a year it's still working fine on the original battery.Peace of mind to alert for water leaks under the sink or washing machine.
