This is a really nice mug. The design is beautiful. Something a little unusual for an Irish themed gift. Almost kept it for myself!

The pattern looks like something melted around/pressed around the mug and has several flaws in it - with mine it was "torn" in a place near the handle, the bottom of the image looked stretched and the edge is uneven, the ring image around the inner rim overlapped with itself unevenly and there's a gradient color change that I can't tell if its on purpose or not, there's a few spots where either the image tore while being glazed or else there's a hair or something trapped underneath it. Fairly disappointed considering the price tag on this item.

This ample, 8 ounce cup is perfectly beautiful. The charming design brings back many happy memories of my time in Ireland (not to mention that I love peacocks.) Pricing is very good for an international shipment, and I received the item only five days after placing my order. I have had no problems using it in the microwave (...even a purist has days she doesn't use a pot and loose tea.)
